Allergies/breathing problems?

Who has late summer/early fall allergies? How bad are they?

For me, I can't breathe at all through my nose. I don't know for sure, but I believe I have a deviated septum because all of my life I've had issues breathing through my nose (all the time, not just once in a while)...seasonal allergies are always really bad, then all winter long because of how dry it is, it's also very bad.

The worst so far this year started two nights ago. I can't sleep at night when I can't breathe through my nose. The only way to breathe is to stay active...so working during the day is great, but I get home and I sit around it gets bad...at night I usually wake up multiple times not being able to breathe.

Acupuncture work? It's one of a handful of things I haven't tried. So far nothing else works.

No medical insurance, don't mention anything in regards to seeing a doctor.

My allergies have been shitty since august this year. Probably has to do with how little rain we've been getting.

But I have found that generic Claritin (anything with Loratadine) works well for me and doesn't make me drowsy at all.

I'M OFFENDED!
Allergies suck. I generally go with zyrtec... though it (or any) allergy med doesn't work all that well for me.

Just a tip, but zyrtec is also available as a generic for waaaaaaay cheaper. Though, I have found that medication (Cetirizine) tends to make me drowsy so I avoid those.

EDIT: And by cheaper, I mean that a 360 dose bottle is around 10 or 12 bucks at Costco.

What's this generic Zyrtec?

My allergies aren't normally too bad. But, this last few weeks have been crazy. Zyrtec for me has helped, but I have been taking sudafed with it to clear the head.

Look for the active ingredient Cetirizine. That's what Zyrtec is.

Claritin has never worked for me. I haven't actually tried Zyrtec or it's generic version...maybe I'll give that a shot here soon.

I take Clariton D.. still having persistent symptoms.. namely constant coughing. I've been coughing every single day for almost a month now.. think it may be a little more than just my usual seasonal allergies.

Since you've had a cough so long, you might want to go in. I've wound up with Bronchitis a few times and other issues during allergy season thinking it's only allergies. Luckily every time in the past I had insurance....now if I get sick...oh well until I can afford it.

Why no insurance?

Long story short...shit job. Dental insurance, FSA, 401k, 3 days sick time, 5 days of vacay after I've been there a year. The pay sucks...been waiting for 2 months to find out what my raise will be, but my bosses boss hasn't approved the review yet...lazy fucker. Time to find a new job, but it's tough because this one is so easy...it's physical, but it doesn't get easier...Tues through Friday. Start when I want...7, 8, 9am...whenever as long as my job gets done. I'm scared to try a new line of work. I'm comfortable in warehouse and driving/route positions. But I am doubtful I can find anything better...doesn't seem to be anything out there I qualify for that's hourly. I don't want to do piece work or commission based routes...did that in the past and I made good money for a while, but when the economy took a dive...I lost the position and the equivalent of $8-9 an hour. Then when I lost my job in 2010, I've had 2 shit jobs since then.
