Use an icredibly long flat-head screwdriver. I have big, fat hands and it seemed to help me.Makes sense. I checked the interior fuse and they were good. The fuse under the hood I can't tell. I think you are right, I'll change one bulb and see if that's it. Any advice on changing bulbs? Maybe find some small hands...
There is definitely a trick to getting bulbs out on the 3. The protege uses a similar spring clip mechanism, but for whatever reason it's not nearly as big of a pain to figure out. If you haven't already, look up some pics of the mechanism--it will help immensely in not only removing the bulbs, but reinstalling them also.
