Building an Electric Focuser with NEMA 17 – Driver and Microstepping Selection?

Hello everyone, I plan to build an electric focuser using a NEMA 17 stepper motor from skysmotor. I'm currently considering the driver and have a few questions for discussion:

1. Which driver is more suitable: A4988, DRV8825, or TMC series? Is there a significant difference in noise level?

2. How much does microstepping setting (1/16, 1/32, or even higher) improve actual focusing accuracy? Is it just "theoretical accuracy"?

3. Is a closed-loop stepper motor necessary, or is a standard open-loop system sufficient for stability?

4. Is there a significant difference in response speed and stability between 12V and 24V power supply?

5. Are there any recommended NEMA 17 models or brands, particularly suitable for low-speed, high-precision scenarios?

I would appreciate hearing your configuration suggestions and practical experiences. Thank you!
