Burning a bit of coolant (I think)

During my last few oil changes, I've been watching my coolant level and I've added maybe a cup or so to keep the reservoir at the midpoint when the engine was cool. I've never noticed any oil film in the coolant reservoir, nor any water in the oil.

What do you all think... Should I be anticipating a head gasket replacement in the near future, or are there other mechanisms where small amounts of coolant would be consumed?

The other explanation is that I've only really watched it closely over the last few months, so I might've been a bit low before and am just returning to normal by adding small amounts.

Considering your coolant-related shenanigans last year, I'd get a UOA done at your next oil change and see what that comes back with.
