Clutch work

Staff

New Member
Has anyone had any clutch work done recently? I am thinking I need a full clutch replacement, but I am going to Walser Mazda in Burnsville to get it looked at today. IF I do need a new clutch replaced, does anyone have a place to get it done for cheaper than what the dealership would charge?

Oh, I have a Speed6... I bet that is helpful. ;-)

I have a weird grinding/knocking noise when I'm coasting in neutral. And once and a while the car will vibrate as I'm going through the gears. When sitting idle, the engine is sound with no noise or vibrations.

Help a guy out!

That's when the pedal is out and just coasting. I'm paying the 120 at Walzer to do the diagnostic... Will update when they are finished

I'M OFFENDED!
Could be the diff then... there was a TSB on those a while back. Did that ever get sorted on your car?

Yeah the transfer cases in the MS6 are a trouble spot - they (Morries) replaced the seals in mine (Twice! lol) the rear axle seals, and a couple other things to the tune of about $2k, covered under warranty thank god, so if it's more than seals I could see it being $2500-3k, sucks man. I hope you get it sorted.

Unfortunately, a TSB does not mean the cost of the repair is covered under any additional warranty in most cases. It just means Mazda is aware of the issue and has a prescribed fix.

Correct, sometimes if there is a TSB for an item you can get dealers to cover it depending on the item involved, how long the car has been out of warranty, etc but it's not something I'd bank on.

True, it never hurts to see if the dealer or Mazda Regional can devote some of the "customer care" dollars they get budgeted for out-of-warranty items.
