Yeah, getting the money together is always the hard part. I seem to run into a bout 1000$ every spring (not from taxes, but just various windfalls) that allows me to continue spending on this car. That might come to a screeching halt once my mini-me gets old enough to care about his toys and clothes and things.

Fixed that for ya.

You'll enjoy it. I don't have a Mazda, but same principal. I have an Injen intake....nice thing about the one for Cobalt is that it is a two piece design and allows you to do the SRI or the CAI...I installed it as an SRI originally, then later went CAI with it.

I had a scare once on a rainy day with a few deeper puddles. I was lucky nothing happened as there have been numerous Cobalt people that have hydrolocked their cars. After that I switched the filter for an AEM dryflow and put the hydroshield on it, which does a pretty good job of keeping water out...it's not a 100% guarantee, but it's better than not having it.

Corksport SRI

Added a Corksport SRI to the Mz3 on Sunday. I love it!

1. The engine sounds much happier.
2. I actually feel like the car is 'zippier'.
3. I am getting slightly better gas mileage now.

Excellent. You probably did gain a couple HP over the stock basket of fail....... either way, life is better now!

I run a CAI on my MS3 and was worried about hydro-locking as well, but AEM sells a dry sock to place atop your filter. I check my filter after driving in the rain and it stays soft and dry!I run a CPE CAI and I love it. In my opinion, just MY opinion I don't honestly think that a CAI on a n/a car is necessary, unless you're going for looks. Sure it sounds different you get that hum when starting it but there really isn't any hp tq gains for a n/a car.
