Completing the trifecta

First was Tom...
Then Andy...
Now my turn:

Found a few drops of oil on my garage floor, which is unusual to begin with, but even more unusual in that they were from the passenger side of the engine bay. Got the flashlight out and saw the above, #3 motor mount leaking all over the place. I've been feeling some extra vibration at idle lately, and when my car was in at Walser a few weeks ago, I specifically asked them to check out the motor mounts -- they said they were fine.

Thankfully, if you're gonna lose a motor mount #3 is the one to lose, as the car is still driveable and there's minimal risk of the engine falling out. I'm still gonna take it easy until Friday when the car's going in to Morries. I got a little lucky too, as I only have 3,000 miles left on the warranty.

Motor mounts seem to plague the 3. I was talking to a guy at work that has a regular 3 hatch and he said his only repair other than maintenance so far was a broken motor mount. Makes me want to replace all of mine.

Glad you're still under warranty. Hopefully they get ya fixed up quick like.

Well, StreetUnit has a replacement side motor mount, and supposedly CP-E is coming out with one in July. I've heard stories of people having to replace the OEM mounts several times. Looks like I get to go shopping...

Survey says...bad #3 engine mount. Morries got it swapped out, car drives 100% better now.
