Computer Help...

Hey all, my Dell Dimension E510 took a crap on me the other morning and I had to format and reinstall a copy of Windows XP that I had around my house. The install went fine and the system loads up correctly, but it does not recognize a ton of my hardware. I think it is mainly driver issues, but I dont have a resource disc that has all my drivers.

When I go into the device manager I have about 6 pieces of hardware that have the yellow question mark next to them. I am assuming that if I download the correct drivers and install them, this should take care of my issue?

Probably. The yellow mark indicates and issue with a device, and if the drivers aren't installed that could certainly do it.

If you go to the Dell website and enter the service tag of the comp it'll probably give you a list of downloads for the drivers you need.

Yeah... that's another option. Sometimes it's hard to tell for sure what you've got inside a premade computer though. Especially when the device manager says "Network Adapter" or some generic label.

Dell is very good about keeping drivers organized on their site; as Dan first suggested, drop your service tag into the form and it'll come up with all the drivers you'll need.

Yeah, I did that. I just downloaded a huge pack of drivers. Hopefully this will solve my issues. Thanks for the help.
