cons 4 ms6/any other car

dont get me wrong guys. i luv the ms6 but i have 1 small problem. the freaking exhust makes me :( :( :( :( :( sad everytime i look at it. from far it looks good but if u bend down and take a closer look u will see the real tiny exhust inside the tip.
ex. the evo stock exhust. y cant mazda put some like those on the ms6. the ride will look sick i tell ya,thats all i got to say. anyone else got anything on their chest to get rid off?

For all things relative to producing these cars, I didn't expect anything less. It doesn't both me one bit actually. I'll replace it down the road with a more effective one that fits my taste.

But for those who love and crave AWD (like myself) the speed 3 was never an option. Chances of me never having an AWD as one our of cars is slim to none.

I've never drove an AWD vehicle before... just curious...

To me it's the ability to have more control in all types of weather. It's a traction thing for me. I'm a DSM guy who started with a FWD 97 GST and I hated the wheel spin, when I moved on to AWD DSMs I never really looked back. FWD is fine, and we have it for our daily, but I just love the AWD.

AWD is like coke once you try it you would step over your own mother to get it. This is my first AWD and let me say best thing ever. I have drive 4WD, Fwd and RWD all of witch have there place. But let me say this car sticks to the road and pull you through the corners but yet still will put you back in the seat strait away.
So all I can say this thread should be about what you love about the MS6 not what you want to change. Because lets face it no one put a gun to your head and said buy it.

Great car Nuff said.

I agree, AWD DSM FTW. (Can I fit a few more random letters in there? Maybe.....) But what it came down to for me was the percieved lack of performance. I guess I expected a lot more from a hotted up AWD Mazda6, and was kind of underwhelmed with the engine choice. Great for the 3 no doubt, and I love it, but it seems to me that the 6 really should have gotten two more cylinders or something. Car seems to suffer as a 4cyl.

At least you Speed 3 and 6 owners have a decent amount of HP to start out with. I had to start out with 145 WHP from my 2.0 Liter turbo. The MSP is a dog when it's stock. So thats my complaint. I love the car now. Especially after my run-in with an STI last night on the way home from the Twins game.

The Protege is a great platform to work with. You might only get 145WHP, but the car is probably 400 pounds lighter than my speed3. It's all a trade off.

I was suprised to read that the MSP is over 2800 pounds. I was figuring it to be a fair bit lighter than the 3? And is it correct that the base protege is only ~2400-2500 pounds?

I might be able to drop some weight by losing the sub/amp. It adds some nice bottom end, but it doesn't seem especially clean. Maybe I'll have to tweak the equalizer settings...
