Since there is not an "interior" section...
So, as a 6' tall male, I was having some fit issues in my car:
Drove me nuts. I equated it to wearing a t-shirt that was too small. Just tight enough around the neck to drive you totally nuts. I also run a bike shop, so I like to use outdoorsy stuff that I get a discount on for my cars.
Supplies:
Fly Bikes handlebar end caps.
DIY Grommet kit.
And your basic 1" tubular webbing. (black)
I took the end caps, drilled out the centers. After that, I hit them with VHT wrinkle finish paint I already had for my valve cover project:
I also sprayed the stock screws:
You can also see the grommets in the webbing. I used the door handle as a template for the spacing of the holes.
Here they are installed:
And happy knee/hand interface:
So much better. It's amazing.
Anyway, net cost on this little project was about $20, and some free time.
We have 2" wide webbing also, I may play with that with some folds and whatnot. The 1" looks a little thin to me. Oddly, the thread pitch on the screws is the same as the screws used to install several brands of downhill ski bindings. I'm going to try and find some less ugly hardware.
