Go karting event. They have "party" packages (see here) available for 10-16 drivers. Ten people is $595, each additional up to 16 is $40 more. The package gets us two hours of "party time." I've been told this consists of 8 minute runs with about 5 minutes in between to let the karts cool down (and talk shit to each other no doubt). The track will be ours alone during the time. I calculated that out and we'd get 9-10 8-minute runs in that time. Seems like a pretty good deal since a pack of 5 runs is $50 alone. The party package apparently does not offer timing or scoring, but that can be purchased for an additional $80 if we wanted it. I'm not sure that's totally required, but an option. We could just have people line up in the order they finished the last run or something like that. They are open to parties any time they aren't already booked. They do league racing on Tuesday nights (not really an issue) and have events on some weekends (schedule here).
Obviously we'd want to do a weekend, and I think doing it earlier in the summer would be cool. So checking the schedule, we'd be able to do it:
May 9/10, 16/17(this is cruise weekend), 23/24
June 6/7, 13/14, 27/28
Since we've tried this and failed before, I'm trying to get it more organized and whatnot. This thread is an interest thread.
IT WILL COST $55-60/PERSON, $30 UP FRONT, NON-REFUNDABLE ONCE WE RESERVE THE TRACK Once we figure out a date, I will start collecting monies from people. Once we have 10 people paid in $30 each, I will put a deposit down with the track, and once that happens, you don't get money back if you can't go. I have no problem with YOU finding someone else to take your spot, but we need 10 people FOR SURE paid.
Vote for the weekends YOU CAN GO. Please also post up preferences for day (sat/sunday), etc.
