Lights and Horn (security system?) going crazy after ECU reset... problem fixed!

Okay, so I reset my ECU to clear a CEL caused by my lack of cats (unhooked negative terminal, and pumped brake pedal to reset). When I hooked the negative terminal back up, everything was fine.... for about 10 seconds. Then the ambers started blinking like the emergency lights were on, and the horn started randomly honking! I pressed the "disarm" button on my security system remote, but nothing happened, so I unhooked the battery again. Tried hooking it back up again, and the same thing happened, so I had no choice but to remove the fuse for the horn.

Anyways, after futzing around for a few minutes I figured out that if I let it go for a minute or so, it'll stop. But once I turn the car to "on" (whether its started or not), there is about a 10 second delay, then the same thing happens, and it doesn't stop until I turn the car off, and the current "cycle" finished up.

WTF is this? I can hear relays clicking like mad under my dash while this is going on, so I'm guessing it's my security system going haywire.... (it's a clarion system that they sell under the UNGO brand) Anybody got any good ideas why this is happenind, or what I'm going to have to do to get this taken care of? As long as I keep the horn fuse removed, and drive around with my ambers on, you can't tell there's anything weird going on(except for the incessant relay clicking), so the car is usable, but this is annoying as hell!

Thanks!

Okay, well I figured out what my problem was. I had a hunch that maybe it was the stock security system that was throwing the hissy fit, since the aftermarket system is not even wired into the horn. Also, when I bought the car, the salesguy told me just to hide away the stock keyfobs since the aftermarket and stock systems DO NOT get along! lol... Anywho, dug out the stock fob, hit lock, then unlock, started the car up, and the problems were gone.

And Micah, you were right... under the dash it is a FREAKING MESS of wires and connectors and shit. I might have to pay you guys a visit for an upgrade one of these days...

I'm keeping the horn fuse removed for a couple days, because the LAST thing I want is for the horn to start going apeshit when I'm in the middle of traffic! hehe....

yeah typically if you start a circuit with one fob ie lock unlock sequence you have to finish it with that same pad if you don't it causes problems.. yeah bad install = fire, or broken car.

we hid my brain box and my 556u starter bypass in my '01 stratus r/t so well that when morries mazda sold it to some one I got 3 calls from them trying to figure out where everything was ha ha ha
