Looking for a car

So with the Miata sold and the Mazda 6 coming off lease and going back to Mazda as quick as we can send it I am looking for a new car. I'm not dead set on a lease yet, though that is the side I'm leaning on right now.

I have been looking for anything and everything 4 doors that's used at a resonable price. I'm open to the fun summer time Jeep, the gas guzzling H2/H3, or an econo box to putz around with this summer.

My biggest thing is it being 4 doors, likely auto, and it can't be something where there is no ounce of fun factor at all. Even some of the leased econo boxes can be snuck out on the auto x course every now and then...

Thoughts, links, rants about that big morning dump? This is off topic, so I figure Ben should have a fucking hay day if I want to travel east for something... lol

Doesn't look that fun to me...lol. 2014 Cruze 2.0TD...no?...lol OK 2014 Mazda6 diesel.

Sounds like you want an SUV of some sort though...I mean based on your Jeep/Hummer talk. What about smaller like Liberty/Compass or something Ford...new Escape is damn nice.

Not sure what you'd be looking to spend so I have no idea how much of a lease you would want or if used, what you'd want to keep it under...I'm sure you wouldn't want to spend too much, but I mean $10k, 15k, ?

Chevy Sonic LT/LTZ hatchback/sedan...doesn't matter as long as you get the 1.4l turbo 6 speed auto. I would recommend you test drive one just to see what you think.

For reference, new car, great mileage, handles very well...easy to modify (if you wanted to...growing aftermarket...tune alone is 30+ hp at the crank). Compare my 4-door Cobalt to the Sonic sedan...you get a wider stance, more cargo space, more passenger volume in every spot, tons of safety features and a more compact car...8 inches shorter than my Cobalt.

I am hoping to get something used in the $8k range and a lease under $200 a month.

Jeep/H2 was just an example of what I'm open to. It could be seriously anything that's a good value for a decent car.

Word association, go!

Fusion Titainium AWD
Challenger
Audi A3 Quattro
Sonata

YSOSLO

is the word, beotch
Fusion = Ford = crap
Challenger = Dodge = crap (after 100-150k miles, so ok if you're leasing)
Audi with Quattro = butter, but spendy to repair long-term
Sonata has been kicking ass and taking names over the last couple of years

Or did you want only one word answers?

I'll say this, the new Ford Fusion has a outstanding build quality to it. And when my dad drives nothing by F150s for the farm and they take a beating and last for years, I'll trust in certain ford quality. I think some names, like the Exploder have given them a bad rap, but this Fusion, especially the Titanium, omg it's niiiiice.

I trust Ford over many many others - but the number of issues ALREADY identified w/ the new Fusion scared me away, who knows how they will be long term just wasn't something I was willing to risk, if you only plan to keep the car 2-3 years that might be a lesser concern though.

Same w/ Audi, if it's a 2-3 year lease or purchase then sell, I'd be all about an Audi, but long term I wouldn't want to own one.

Another car to check out - Optima, damn the new ones are nice.

All of this ^^^, yes. I'll give you this, if you buy the top-of-the-line model of whatever Ford you're considering, then you'll get a decent vehicle, but other than that, they just don't hold up well over time in my opinion. Dodge and Audi both suffer from longevity issues as well.

If the field is really wide open, I'd encourage you to check out a 2012 Toyota Rav4 V6 Sport. It's a smaller SUV, but still has 4 doors and an automatic. The V6 got better gas mileage than an similarly equipped Honda CRV and when you stomp on the gas pedal it takes off like you've got a rocket strapped to the roof! If I had driven one of these before my Mz3, I'd be rolling in one right now without a doubt. Toyota did away with the V6 for 2013, and I haven't heard anything one way or the other since the change.

Toyota wise, I rode in Josh's and must say that thing is so nice, I'd rock one for sure, it's just father out of my price range.

G37 lease
2014 Mazda6? if you haven't seen one in person you really should. One of the best looking Mid sized cars out there.

Sfter driving the 6 we have, I need a break from that car and I really want an AWD/4WD availability.

G37 would be a G37x and that's more than I want to spend. Really, if you look at the options, power, milage, ect, the Fusion Titanium is getting really hard to beat price wise.

Fab leasing on the G37x's even with the added price tag. I've been pricing out both the fusion and the G37x and keep coming back to the G37x because of the affordability.

$299 /month Lease for 24 months
$2,699 initial payment
2013 G37 Sedan AWD with Premium Package

woah, how does a car that runs 6k more lease for $50 a month less, damn, I'm gonna look at that

looking around, the fusion has some standard optons you need to pay extra for on the G37x, just to get to the sport package, they REQUIRE the other two which bring the payment for over 5 bills. We are gonna drive one, but I'm back in the Fusion court. Have you driven the Titanium?
