I think it looks fine, in no way do all installs look perfect by any means. The car is to be the focal point here, with a performance base.

...what? Even if this was a real car, I'd imagine after the owner finished the install he'd at least try and correct the issue. That's not the point though...

The crooked IC was the first thing I noticed. That's the focal point no? The one thing that draws your attention first? Three people have noticed it. Fix that and it'll look fine.

I've brough it up to the designer, so we will see if i get it fixed. though when on a shirt it's not going to stand out as much. I'm going to do a vette, and through some spinners on it just in protest. :D

Make 'em as crooked as that IC and you got a deal!

As long as you're planning on tweaking the FMIC, perhaps adding a little more flare to the rear fenders would be in order too. It looks like an MS3 rearend vs. the significant flare that's very apparent on the STi hatches. Just my 2 cents.

My favorite so far. But, what's with the aztec symbol thingy? It does seem to blend in with the color of the car, but that could be either the picture or my monitor. I really dig it.

So, honest question... in a case like this what would someone suggest for a back ground? Nothing? Something else?

I think it'd be cool to finish off the one curve of the course, along with that new Mazda flag flying in back or something?

I dunno, I'm not a designer, or a 'good' critic - just expressing opinion.

I would say no background... but my major qualm with this is that the cones are VERY wrong. And since it's a miata "autox design". This should be right, IMO.

The first issue is that the pointer cone (on its side) in front of the car is backwards. The pointer cone means you have to go around the other side of the standing cone and it will always be facing top of the cone towards the standing cone.

The layout of the cones in general is also wrong. Based on the pointer cones, the driver would be coming from the left side of the shirt, and staying to that side of all the cones. With no visible cones on the other side, where would be be going? The way it is now, it looks like the driver managed to go WAY around the last two elements, and he's trying (not very hard based on the angle of the wheels) to get back to that front cone?

If you check out this pic you can see what I mean (they chalk the edges of the course to try and keep people on track): http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/ii318/Workdawg17/New Car/Autox/mowog2set202.jpg

And the cone right in front of the car, IF he makes it, he'll most likely be going the wrong way. Not all cones on an Autox course have pointer cones next to them, most don't. Only ones where there could be confusion about where you need to go do.

I think if you flip the two back cones around, so they point to the right, fix the pointer on the front cone, and maybe scoot it more to the right of the miata, it would look better. This way it looks like the driver came wide around the two back cones (from left around the right side), and is trying to make it back to go around the left side of the cone.

I could see a curving of a the road course or a skyline type deal of buildings since most AutoX's are held in parking lots/schools/etc

Also i agree with Dan comments on the cones, since this design can appeal to Miata owners and people who enjoy AutoX.
