Mafia 4 - Night 2, Deadline 10/7 9pm

I'M OFFENDED!
See here's where it gets interesting. I'm NOT entirely sure Josh is not scum. I'm fairly certain Eddy is. Only time will tell for sure, but the scenario in my head is playing like this-

Eddy rallies the vote. For whatever reason Josh has been playing pretty scummy all things considered. Easy enough to pull a vote for him. So Eddy (because Eddy plays like this) pulls out the risky tactic of trying to off his teammate. This works one of two ways. Either A- Josh goes to the noose, gets hung, and Eddy is absolved of guilt due to the fact that no one would possibly vote out their own teammate. That gives Eddy free reign to pick and choose his battles, and basically play the frame vote for the rest of the time, and scum wins. Tom comes in, pisses eddy off, by calling shenanigans. People start listening to Tom, and maybe think that Eddy IS up to shenanigans. Everyone halts the lets axe Josh bus and hops off to get a soda and some thinking time. Realizing that this could Jeopordize Eddy's tactic, Josh votes himself, hoping someone will hammer, and we can go into night, Eddy's plan saved.

While I find the first scenario plausible, I don't buy the second one at all. It's one thing for scum to off one of their own to come out looking squeaky-ass clean. But it's another for that plan to start to falter and have the second scum VOTE FOR HIMSELF to carry out the plan. As soon as we see that Josh, a scum, voted for himself and succeeded then we know, without any semblance of a doubt that there are some serious shenanigans up.

No, if that plan was being threatened, scum would simply fall in line and drop the hammer on whoever was being rallied against.

See, that's the problem. Let's say Eddy's scum. He's already voted swanny, and has stuck to his guns. Swanny MIGHT just be voting to get it over with, I don't know. Either way, I think there's a lot more to that vote than "If sacrificing myself saves town". Because lets say he is town. Town goes down to 4 members start of d3, and two scum. One more dead townie and it's nearly impossible for town to win. I guess it's plausible that take one for the team to lean it out is an ok idea... But I don't see how sacrificing ones' self d2 is going to be productive at all... for Town.

I generally agree with this and have since pulled my vote for Josh.

That said.... if we don't lynch, I do feel we are going to be a big disadvantage d3.
Scum is going to NK someone and they have some really easy targets to keep us town from even coming together for a lynch on night 3.

Yeah, the problem is, we have to take someone down, it's that simple. I hate to say it, because I don't want Eddy's plan to work, but Swanny is the only logical kill unless we can pull something out of our asses in the next 6 hours.

Jay... thoughts on this?

Where the hell is Picklz?

Here's another aspect to Josh's vote.... I'm starting to see it as a bluff plain and simple. He says "Here, I'm voting for myself. Now if someone else comes along and places the deciding vote, that person must be scum". What better way to insulate yourself from getting axed than to put say "I'm convinced enough that anyone who votes for me is scum that I'm going to stake my life on it"? In that sense, he's not scum hunting at all, but scum himself playing a last resort bluff in the face of a lynch.

If nobody can put forth an explanation that sounds more plausible, I will very likely drop the hammer on Josh myself.

If we can rally around who we think is scum, I will change my vote off myself obviously. Otherwise when it is announced I am townie when nightfall is lifted, don't let my "told you so's" burn to much.

My theory is that AJ and Eddie are scum. AJ has been non vocal and kris was non vocal. To preserve the game, Kris was replaced. Eddie stepped in and started the swing. It didn't take much convincing of AJ to see the "light" from Eddie and swing their vote to me.

Tom,

I can honstly say I could never imagine your scenario, but now that you lay it out like that, very deceptive!

If you want to pile on Eddie, that is fine, as I'd rather NOT die, but do want to flush out a scum member.

Sorry, but I see nothing here that makes me change my mind. Basically, it reads as "if you can find someone else to lynch besides me, then I'll unvote as soon as the pressure is off."

So, if eddy is scum, why have you not voted him yet? Seems like right now is an excellent time to get shit together.

Jay,

Your inability to see reason is confusing and concerning me. Who do you think is scum in this game?

Tom I just read your longwinded post and see your concern with my vote for myself right after Eddie checked out, it does seem scummy. However, if I "unvote" myself I feel that would look scummy.

Dammit.

Vote: Eddie

I think he is teaming up with AJ. No-one believed me when I blew the whistle on AJ, so maybe they will with Eddie?

and this is the last time I expect to check in on this game as my afternoon/evening is jammed packed.

I may get back in, but no guarantee.

You're wrong, I'm a townie and I have a feeling it was more of a reaction vote to me when I placed the role of scum on you with potential partners. I have to think the optimal scum pairing right now is Josh and Nate and if I'm right, the game ends tonight. That would explain the sefl vote as a last ditch effort to save yourself by trying to be a town member and taking one for the team - which would lead people to think then you aren't scum at all... I just don't buy it, and hope I'm right.
