Mafia game 5 - GAME IS ON!

@Tom If you think Andy is Scum, and Ben is NOT scum, who would you peg as Andy's partner in crime?

There's too many scummy things and coincidences for me to think almost anyone is Scum over Ben at the moment. Maybe that's just new play contributing but that's where I'm at right now. And I agree Tom we can't just lynch someone because they are not overly helpfull, we NEED to hit Scum w/ this lynch. It sucks having two people (Josh, Nate) that are so quiet.

Do you honestly believe the ++ Town points were because I brought up a movie quote or picture posting again?
No, not specifically.

Another example of trying to misdirect attention to that one (minor) argument that I've been making and away from any real arguments and points that are being brought up against you. Frankly I haven't been making that big a deal out of it and I don't know that anyone really cares all that much about it - it IS a fact that it happened - bringing it up on it's own isn't probably necessary anymore, but it should be considered as a tiny part of the whole picture and mentioned as such IMO, however I have a feeling if you stopped being so vocal in defending yourself about that one thing it would have died already.
There haven't really been real arguments brought up against me. The most recent argument other than the quote and the picture is that you felt that it was bandwagon and misdirection that drove me to vote Nate. I already addressed that.

As a town member, i'm expected to defend myself, as not defending myself is scummy. I'm not out to become the next AJ.

Unfortunately, i feel as if you've missed the point. No longer are we actually discussing the fact that i posted a quote and a picture. (Or two, har har.) I illustrated that quite plainly in my post before this one.

I need examples. There's been one coincidence. One. It's interesting how one letter can drastically change the outlook. It's like i'm a real-time fact-checker.

The only other thing i've really seen you bring up is what we've been talking about for the last half dozen posts.

Alright... with about 36 hours left, let's start getting our shit together.

What I would LIKE is for everyone to make a case for their top 1-2 suspects for today. If possible, keep the "theorycrafting" to a minimum and try to stick to specific things that person has done that makes you suspicious of them. It's fun to theorycraft, I've done it today as well, but it tends to make you focus too much on how something COULD be scummy and less on whether it truly is scummy. Something I have to work on plenty.

For me, I'm really torn between Nate and Andy; with Ben in third, but a few lengths back. Ben was originally just annoying with the trolling, but I'm not really seeing the scumminess lately.

Nate - Different playstyle from last game. I reviewed the previous game. Getting some heat at the end of D1 didn't even seem to phase him in D2, he still posted with reasonable frequency and didn't seem to be afraid to give his opinion at all. This game, he's been all but absent and when I called him out on it, he's now refusing to be helpful in case it makes him look bad. That's a scum mentality. "What if I say something dumb and they catch me." Certainly it's also something that new town players do, because they are typically afraid of being mistaken for scum... but the playstyle thing makes me think it's not a newb-town mistake.

Andy - Bandwagoning like crazy; he seems to just be shifting his vote around to whoever has the most votes at any given time. He was accused of bandwagoning last game too and seemed to be a little bit more cautious after that. Not so much any more.

I tend to agree with this overall but I'd switch my order to Ben / Nate / Andy - I agree Andy is bandwagon voting a LOT, but, he was doing that in Game 1 also, he seems to be playing almost identical to how he was rolling Game 1 to me anyway reading his (sometimes weak) theories and his vote switching all over hell. Nate I can't deny has done a 180 from last game and that is the primary reason I'd be willing to cast a vote for him, my promblem in voting for him over Ben is I think Nate has done more to scum hunt and offer Town some solid theories than Ben has.

Ben I think I've covered but to summarize - Lots of Trolling and Very Little Scum hunting Day 1, Day 2 picks up the 'town image' in reducing the amount of trolling, trying to scum hunt a little and defending himself as 'Town should do', along with some points Nate Made at the beginning of Day 2 and my theorycrafting that I agree is widely based on NON-Facts.

I only have a case against Andy. The rapid switch of a vote when called out, the bandwagon voting, and I just have a vibe. I know its not proof, but just something seems off.

Ben He is second, but only for a watch. I don't think he is Andy's partner the more I read. New, yes, but brings an interesting flare to the game.

Both Nate and Tom are playing differently than before (quieter), not sure why. If the theory is that the scum are repeating from last game (quiet and watch the town go at it), then they would be front-runners.

Dan is playing similar to the way he was the only other time I played with him. I got a "scum" vibe last time from that, turned out he was the town doctor.

Picklz is playing the same as before, scum hunting.

I can only point one finger and it is at Andy. If he is Scum, kudos. If he is townie and bangwagon voting...well decisions need to be swift in this game and the miss will suck on a D2 lynch.

I am not feeling the need to lynch Nate or Ben at this point in time. Watch, yes, Lynch, no.

Here is my incredibly helpful vote count chart thing...

Number indicates order of vote, when there are more than one that represent the same number for the same person, red came before orange.

Workdawg

NARWHAL
Slightly more clear one... with vote counts separated by comma.

Explanations:

Nate's Wagon
Tom original voted for Nate, but switched his vote before anyone else voted. So the first vote count listed there starting with Tom's red '1' is 1 (no other votes). Then I voted Nate (in orange) and you can see that Ben and then Andy followed my vote.

Ben's Wagon
Nate has remained the first vote the entire time on Ben. Tom was on that wagon in position 2 until Ben voted #3. Tom unvoted (putting Ben in position 2) and then Andy jumped on in position #3.

I'm not sure how much it really shows. Andy clearly likes to jump on band wagons, putting both Nate AND Ben at L-1.

I'm not sure I really understand your reasoning here - it looks to me you are using previous game play behavior as your basis for who you think is scum - yet Nate is playing complete opposite as in the last game, and he was Town in the last game. Andy is playing almost identical to last game, and was Town last game. Yet you suspect Andy more than Nate? I totally understand the bandwagon thing and it is absolutely the reason I have some suspicion, but unless he's trying to just mirror what he did last game hoping it will work I just don't know. Also not suspecting me based on your 'reasons' above seems silly as well, as I thought at least that I was scum hunting in the previous game pretty well (or pretending to) maybe not as much as this game since I didn't actually want to FIND scum lol but none the less.

I was mearly giving a breakdown as to my opinions on others. Your "scum hunting" last game was actually more pressure than this game. All we have to go on is posted data and previous behavior Matt, thus my compare and contrast theory. However that only weighs in so much as I don't feel that people (some people) are playing the same. Be it a new role they aren't use to, or perhaps just a change in tactics, but people are creatures of habit.

Ben is new.
Andy seems to be more involved than last game. Bandwagon voting, but seems to be looking for confirmation on every move and every action. Posts like "XXX is -1 from lynch, what do we do" and "should we do it?" raise concern for me.

Nate and Tom are usually pretty vocal, yet strangly quiet this game. Not implicating them at all, just voicing my observations out loud. As Dan took over the "scum tracker V 2.0" excel chart, I have to find another way to contribute to the hunt.

So while I do suspect Andy more than Nate, it is more based off current participation versus previous posting. One post in particular from Nate did raise concern, something about him posting that he isn't posting as much, to not get grilled...which for me is weird. Town members typically don't care if they are grilled or voted against, thus my LOL @ you voting for me to get a response (whatever floats your boat man).

I'm really liking the Nate wagon right now. It's inching ahead the more a reread the past couple RL days of posts.
