So yesterday we saw Chris fitting the pipes for an evo turbo manifold. Here are some of the finished pipes that he will be welding together.

These schedule stainless steel pipes are a key element to making our turbo manifolds. Our manifolds are jigged up, tig welded, and back purged to guarantee a strong, long lasting manifold.

So I was back in the fab shop again today. I came across Matt prepping this tungsten for his Tig welder. Anyone who TIG welds knows that a properly prepped tungsten makes the world of difference!

Good Evening folks! Nothing too crazy going on here today, but I did spot this customers evo that's going through some troubleshooting.

Poor little evo is stuck at 500whp and choppy power curve. We've located the problem areas, now we must get the customer to fix them. Hopefully we can rectify them and make some more power soon!

Got intake manifold cores?

It's not uncommon to have 10+ manifolds on our queue to be ported at any given time. Man that's alot of grinding! Glad that's not my job! haha.

Our porting guru Bob has worked on everything from NA applications to boosted nitrous applications, and from single cylinder recreational vehicles all the way to high performance super cars like the Dodge Viper SRT-10, and everything in between. Pulling from his education in fluid dynamics, airflow theory, physics, thermal dynamics, and his real world testing, he is able to bring us nothing less than the best porting and polishing solutions. Over the years he has developed custom tooling (unlike the competition) that allows him to port 'line of sight' and be able to get everything in a manifold even if it is a Viper intake plenum that is ~26" long!

If you are after the most from your setup, and need nothing less than the best porting solutions, look no further than your performance specialists at Modern Automotive Performance.

The evo below is getting carpet fitted around the roll cage. Not a very exciting task for the technician, but it made for a decent photo.

Well folks, it's friday! I hope you all have a great weekend!

Well folks, remember that yellow evo 8 that we touched base on last week? Well it's back!

We ended up switching out his stock intake manifold for a MAP Rev 3 ported unit, stock exhaust manifold for a MAP Short runner tubular, injen lower intercooler piping for a MAP LICP, and the forge boost controller for a Hallman Pro. We gained 75 peak horsepower and 71 peak pound feet of torque.

One spot even gained almost 120whp.

Check out the graph here!

So this is what happens if you get some contamination in your turbo. This unit locked the bearings up and spun them in the center section. The shaft was also found to bent as well, which put the wheels into the housings. The only part salvageable is the turbine housing. Not a cheap day for this fella. :(

Here at MAPerformance we can handle most turbocharger rebuilds. From your run of the mill TDO4 to an 80mm and beyond, we've got you covered!

It's been an exciting yet emotional day around here today! One of our welding machines had a baby!

We certainly hope it can keep up with its much larger counterparts. Welcome to the family little fella!

These are getting more popular around here... This is a stage 4 4B11T cylinder head on our Serdi valve and guide machine.

This little machine cuts our time required for cutting valve seats in half. Oh how magical it is!

So I mentioned some shop shenanigans. So as promised here is Potter showing us his how you ride a quad!

We tuned this little hot rod up for a great customer of ours who was so kind to let us have this photo opportunity.

I'M OFFENDED!
On the end of that quad- whatever happened to that Rhino or whatever it was Jordan was putting a D-series into?

Sometimes it's the little things that bring everything together. Here's a great example of that.

The fellas put this great air/oil separator on this bmw. The bracket they fabbed up sure brings it all together!

So little Jim here is doing a very important task. He's assembling our pressure test equipment for the EVO 8/9 rev 2 & 3 intake manifolds.

The manifolds are pressurized and if any leaks are found, sealed up and tested again till they hold pressure.

I was in the back shop office and came across these little fellas. Do you think these will fit on a civic?

These bad boys are for our RX7 that will be competing in the King Street class this season.
