Mazdaspeed 6 Owner- New to Forum

Hey Guys & Gals. Thought I could put up a quick intro to say 'hi' to everyone.

My name is Eric and I live in Shoreview. I bought my 2006 Mazdaspeed 6 in December of 2005- white with white / black interior.

I bought the car because it had pretty much everything I wanted: good handling, factory power, AWD, manual transmission, looked good, sleeper, etc. After my experiences with my previous car I wanted to keep this one stock and actually enjoy a factory warranty for a while. I've been able to do just that.... until recently. I got a bug up my butt to start looking for a new car and I found was that I would have to spend a whole lot of money to get something that had everything I wanted and was an upgrade to the Speed6. So the next logical step was to keep my car and make a few changes to it to make it fun to drive again. Matt D recommended checking out the forum here so I stopped by and registered a week ago or so. I want to pick up the power a little and tighten up the drivetrain so I started researching what was out there.

I already picked up the COBB AP from Modern Performance and the Forge BPV should be delivered on Friday. The AP is pretty awesome and was a bigger upgrade than what I was expecting. Plus the realtime monitoring and data logging is a huge plus. Unfortunately the Cobb Sf intake was on backorder so I'll have to see if I can get that elsewhere. Other things I'm looking at getting soon are the SU rear motor mount, TWM short shifter, and solid shifter base bushings. I may throw in the CorkSport downpipe as well if I feel like getting that involved.

My previous car was a 2000 Ford Focus that was supposed to only get a few modifications... intake, exhaust, underdrive pully. That lasted a little while but eventually the car had pretty much everything done to it including full suspension, LSD, turbo, and a bottom end built to handle 500 hp. It was mostly a sleeper with the exhaust as quiet as I could get it, a stealth intercooler, and a body kit from Ford Europe. Unfortunately my experience with taking 9 months to rebuild the motor (this was my only car) killed most of the fun with the car and I sold it before I could build the turbo system I wanted. Hence the move to factory power and a factory warranty. We'll see how crazy things get with the Speed6. Hopefully I can have a bit more restraint this time. :)

Anyway, 'hello' to everyone and glad to be here!

I HAVE to see this car! WWP w/ white leather -

Looks like you're on the right track with mods. You're doing everything I did first-hand.

Pics?

Oh and welcome to the forum! Hooray for another MS6 owner :D

Welcome aboard, the MS6 owners seem to be coming out of the woodwork recently. We've also got a few people getting rid of their MS6s.

Check out the For Sale forums, quite a few parts available there.

I found some old pics of the car I took with my cell phone. Not the best quality but you get the idea. I also don't have any good pics of the interior at this point but you can see it in some of these pics. If they are too big, let me know and I can resize or post links to them instead.

I tried to edit the original post to add the pics but I couldn't find a stupid [Edit] button....

Hopefully this link will take you to the album w/ 10 pics:

Welcome, dude. Good people here, they'll point you in the right direction with anything you need to know or do about your car.

Eric is my roommate, I pay him money and he puts up with me for a month at a time. I'll have to take some pictures of his car with my camera and post them up.

EDIT: Confirmed that he does not have an EDIT button at the bottom of his posts, can someone look at his access, please?

He's got a few posts to go before his access will change (I think it's 10 or 25).

A Mazda forum that lacks basic function? Doesn't seem very fitting, unless it was a DSM forum. ;)
