MNMazda.com Fall Dyno Day!!! Sat Sept 22nd

Looks like we have at least 1 or two spots open still? Nobody cares if I ask some of the Cobalt guys, do you? Maybe I can get one or two of the 2.2's with FI there.

I'd prefer to wait a bit, I have posted on another site which I've talked to a few people on who may be interested. I'd like to give them first crack.

Let's try and make some noise and see if we can't get another car added to the list by week's end! :) You have a car you want to see someone bring, call them out on it, get there there!

I suppose....I mean, of course we want to see big power cars show up and not just anyone, right...

The only time I don't have set is Dan in the Vette. JT, you know if the 15th spot in the afternoon will work for him?

If so, that puts us at 15 cars, and likely with the time it puts us as is where I'm gonna hold tight till I let MAP know where we are at car # wise.

You're in charge...I just asked a question and figured since you made the first comment, maybe it would be OK to ask around.

Dan's and his 'vette won't be there, but I do have one more interested.

Phil - Silverado

Let me know if we can get him in or not.

I wonder how cost effective this is for MAP...I mean just in general, the cost of a dyno and the man hours they pay their employees to run it. I wonder how long a dyno lasts without repair/replacement...I'm sure they get calibrated and checked out from time to time, but it's just something I've always wondered.

Dyno days are (or at least used to be) fairly good money. It's quick pays, $150 an hour for just 3 cars in an hours, and you figure you are paying only $50 an hour in overhead for employees. If you can pull in $800 profit in 8 hours that's well enough (in my mind) to cover the cost of running it. Biggest upside to me would be the marketing aspects. You have 8 hours to spend finding hopefully one person that might need further tuning, and that can bring in some good money as well.

Hey, I got a neighbor who has an '89 Caprice that he put an LS motor and wants to put it on the dyno to see the power it'll pull. Is that cool if he comes down and puts it on the dyno? Just let me know and I can keep him informed. Thanks,

Tony

I'm holdling off scheduling anything else above the current 15 till I confirm with MAP how long they want to be around that day. Anyone is welcome to come down so I encourage you and other to invite people down. I'll see what we are looking at for more cars for this guy and the Colbalts mentioned above.

Thanks everyone!
