Tried boarding last week.... failed horribly

For some reason having the board strapped to my legs was horribly painful... but of course it was rented gear. Knee issues don't help either.

Erik wants to pick up a shorter board for tricks. Then I can try on that one where I can adjust it and not waste $30

I would consider this. Haven't been skiing in years, and don't know if I'll have the cashish for a trip yet this winter.... but I'm keeping my eye on this thread. It could be kinda awesome to rent a cabin overnight or something.

I'm looking for other options but that one would be $727 for a Thursday Friday Saturday night stay, depending on the makeup of people (couples or singles) we could easily sleep 6-8 in there, making it around $100-150/night + gas, food, and lift tickets per person.

I would love to go do something overnight like that but with the baby coming early february it would be really tough for me to get away for a weekend.

But if we did go to Welch, people who dont ski or snowboard, could still go tubing and stuff. Maybe bring a portable grill and some NOM NOM's, for a little tailgating in the parking lot?

I'd be up for both, I'm sure we get a trip to Welch together and I thinks its worth a try to plan a weekend at Lutsen.
