Alright so Nook was what was originally suggested, I don't know if you've been there or not James? But for a larger group, its VERY likely we would not all be able to sit together. Shamrock was a secondary suggestion, Dan posted twice asking for input, nobody chimed in supporting it, I was fine if it was there just wasn't real interested in fighting parking to go there vs somewhere easier.

I'd suggest nailing a place down ahead of time or live with what those who are around on the day of / day before decide on.

We DID nail down the Nook as the place ahead of time, and then they got changed at the last minute.

I see nowhere in this thread where that was decided on, I see you said something to the effect of you thought the nook was the place, then there was discussion about how small it was, shamrock being an alternate, etc. All the day before.

It was decided prior to the discussion of it being a moderate-sized place. We were looking at even doing it the week before when we went to 5-guys and then had determined the Nook was going to be the place for the following week... and then all of a sudden it was changed.

Personally, I don't see what the big deal is in sitting at 2-3 tables or walking a few blocks, but I didn't like how the concept was totally changed 180 degrees at the last minute.

This is why I wanted to decide on a couple places in various locations and just stick to it, otherwise nobody really know's what's going on unless they are part of the discussion the day of. I had no idea based on reading this thread that anything had been decided.

I'll leave the decisions up to you guys, hopefully it gets posted early enough so more of our members can show up.

Adrian saying "we could do the nook next week" is not a decision. Neither is a few people saying "Maybe we should go here" and "I'm in". The people who chimed in in the thread made it sound like there was a good chance we wouldn't fit in that place. It was both inconvienient for parking and seating. Doesn't sound like a good option.

I proposed the shamrock as an alternative, but the only people who said anything said they were out if we went there. I know you don't like BWW, but the people who were around to get their opinions counted do. The last two meets weren't at BWW. It's unfortunate that you couldn't make it to Chili's two weeks ago, but we have been rotating the location.

Why the hell are we still arguing about the meet location for yesterday? The people that wanted wings, ate wings. The people that didn't, didn't. Seems to me that everyone that showed up enjoyed themselves, and some continued to enjoy themselves once they got home.

Sorry, I was just peeved at how the selection was changed, and the reasons made for making the change. I made the compromise to go to a place I don't like and decided to enjoy myself. I expect others to do the same.

...i think your missing the point that no selection was made, if it was it needs to be MUCH clearer. Like Dan said, someone saying 'how about this?' is NOT making a decision. Finalize it, give a link to a map of where the place is, etc.

I will grant that the decision could have been presented in a clearer format, but I had really thought that we had already decided it a while back. While I see the point of having a set rotation, I also think it would be really fun to use these meets as a way to try new places and the like, which made me really excited to do something like the Nook.

I still don't get it. To me it looked like the Nook/Shamrock was discussed. No one made a definitive, so Dan took charge and called BWW in Eagan. Seemed pretty clear to me. Hence why I was at BWW and not the Nook.

I'm not SO much against trying new places, if it can be decided on CLEARLY, in advance, and communicated, perhaps through seperate threads per week rather than one big one, or posts like Dans or other means.

We are working on a better design for the read to make it more clear on what happens and where we are going.....Stay tuned.

The decision isn't final until someone says "WE ARE GOING HERE." There are tons of "we could try this" or "im in for that" in this thread, but none of them are ever the final decision... it is the nature of MNMazda, no one wants to commit to anything, so it just goes on with that until someone steps up and makes the call.

It's also true what Nate said about working out a better way to decide on meet locations. Let's keep this thread about the meets themselves for now. If you have specific suggestions on how to improve the process, please PM a mod and your input will be taken into account. Hopefully we'll have something worked out shortly!

I know that I haven't shown up at a Weds. meet in a long time...but I like the idea from quite a while ago for you guys. It was suggested (in a way) picking the top five places/locations varied and assign them to 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th(when there is one) Weds. of each month. Set it in stone and mark it on the calendar. Then no more disagreements. (just throwing it out there) It is surprising me how much debating and arguing is going on between you (mostly) men. I have only seen you all get along.
