I saw Transformers the other day. It was okay. Better than I thought it was going to be, but just okay. It started strong, but then it petered out. The whole robots cracking jokes and hiding from the main characters parents didn't do much for me.

Vacancy - I like Kate Beckinsale, but don't bother. Weak movie overall.

Into the Wild - Great movie. Well written and directed.

Charlie Wilson's War - Another good movie. Not great, but the performances by Paul Thomas Anderson (i think?) and Tom Hanks were awesome. I severely dislike Julia Roberts and yet I still liked this movie. Great dialogue.

Cloverfield - Meh...You could tell it was created for the young internet/text messaging crowd (hence the viral marketing). Some interesting ideas, but it never came together as a complete movie. Too much left unresolved.

I saw Into the Wild about a month ago after my brother had talked it up as one of the best movies he's ever seen. I like the movie a lot, but I was most disturbed by the fact that I was unable to simply sit back and wait for things to happen, because I was constantly expecting the worst to happen every time the character gets into a new situation. It really brought to light how, after years and years of getting told how scary the world is and what sick people are out there....everywhere, that it was hard for me to even fathom that the character could hitch a ride with someone and not get hurt in some way.

The wife and I watched Just Like Heaven the other night. It was a bit of a chick flick it felt like sort of a modern version of Ghost, but it was alright.

Yea I agree I would never try to hitch rides with people across the country like Chris did. His journey is something I am glad to learn about and try to understand but not something that I would want to try and emulate myself. At least not the way Chris did it. I would like to take a road trip across America but not by hitching rides. Even going out to the magic bus would be a cool thing to do and actually see where he lived up there.

ive actually been thinking of taking a month off and just go biking, i know it wouldnt be anything like he did in the movie, but take a tent with ya, and see how far you get with just a bike, tent, and maybe a shotgun :hunter:. but yeah me and jay have been raving about this movie since it came out and its just a great movie

I saw jackie chan's Drunken Master a few nights ago... if you dig the cheesy kung-fu action infused with the touch of humor chan usually brings to his movies, you'll love it. The fight scenes were actually pretty well done for an older low budget movie! Looking forward to the sequel arriving from netflix!

It was awesome... I was trying to watch it in chinese with english subtitles, but for some reason about 1/3 of the scenes switched randomly to english audio which made it seem extra cheesy and humorous.

I watched a documentary on the F-word last night. Pretty interesting, and it totally dispells the myths about where the word came from. The movie is titled "Fuck"

I also watched the Kingdom a few nights ago, I was quite impressed. Watched no country for old men last night, I thought it was a resonably decent movie, not amazing but worth watching.

I watched a movie called Layer Cake the other night. Its about British drug dealers and has a quasi-Snatch feel to it. Also, Sienna Miller makes an appearance or two. My goodness, I really didnt realize how amazingly good looking she really is.

Well my nieces and I went to see Kung Fu Panda last week and it was pretty good. I did laugh quite a bit. If you are a Jack Black fan, you would probably pay to see it in the theater, otherwise wait for dvd. :)

Watched Juno when i was up in duluth last week, i thought it was very well done, even though i could have done without some of the songs. And you have to love a movie with MN ties to it.

Ellen Page is a cutie too!

So this weekend we watched a couple movies.

10,000 BC. This got some bad reviews, but I actually loved the movie. I thought the story was well played and they went outside the lines to what was reality. I was pleased.

Pirates of the Carrabean 3. I liked no.1, but was lost with no.2. This one was pretty fucking good though. Lots of weird shit again that just made you think "wtf are they doing", but it was funny none the less. Good flick.

watched 'The Happening' on saturday, wasn't too impressed. It could have been a bit gorier IMO, and it was a bit predictable at some parts. If you are a fan of M. Knight Shyamalan you may like this movie, or if you don't mind a good psychological scarefest you may enjoy it too.

i saw the new bond flick thursday night at the midnight showing, i thought it was a great movie, plenty of action, great plot, sexy chick, and a ford fiesta in it too! to me it was great and like i said plenty of cool action scenes, but what it lacked was the bond essence, even the first one had more, and that didnt have to much to it either.

it did not feel like a bond movie, but it felt like a badass" i wanna punch some one in the face cause i got adrenaline in my blood now it was so good" action film, i highly recommend it.

ps if you are running late in the beggining of the movie, wait for the next showing, trust me, even a minute late will, you wont miss any of the plot, but youll miss the aston martin

The new Bond flick is a good movie, but it doesn't feel like a Bond flick. No cool gadgets, no cool Bond car. He's driving a goddamn Ford in a few scenes, christ.
