This time Ford Motor Company pwns the members of Black Mustang Club by forcing CafePress not to print the club's 2008 calander featuring pics of members' cars. Ford's reasoning: FoMoCo claims to own the rights to all images of images of Mustangs, regardless of who owns the car, or who took the picture.

Maybe someone with a longer attention span will wade through the whole thread to look for developments, but I lost interest about 1/4 through.

Wow, leave it to Ford to completely miss the point yet again. Instead of having free advertising and allowing a big group of people who obviously share a love of Ford vehicles to have a good time and god forbid enjoy one of their vehicles, they are gonna play the corporate role and stomp it all out like the butt of cigarette on the pavement. Ford has demonstrated yet again, they have no clue what the younger consumer actually wants, and how they are going to use the vehicle once they get it.

And Ford wonders why their market share is falling faster than the Dow Jones average last Friday.... Pfft...

I was thinking about this, I wonder what Ford's position is on all of their cars that are plastered on all sorts of magazines, t-shirts, coffee mugs..... Think how many times a Ford is shown in one way, shape, or form w/o their consent. I could obviously care less about the calendar that is no longer going to be, but I feel for those guys and the points they are raising. Once you pay for it, you OWN it....

Joe, I bet Ford's position is that each time a mustang appears unofficially, their lawyers are knocking on the door with a cease-and-desist order in one hand and a royalty agreement in the other.
