Are you talking about smoke from the burning off of lubricants used during the work or actual smoke from the exhaust?

Its actually smoke coming from the exhaust. Blue smoke, I'm guessing from the oil used to lubricate the turbo. I think its really common with the turbos that have been manufactured for our cars. I just wish I could minimize it a little bit. Anybody have any suggestions? Would this be something a catch can would help? Possibly today I could post a pic so you guys could see what it looks like.

Well blue smoke coming from the back of the exhaust is oil, and MY MS6 had it as well. I let me car sit one day running for 1 min. Enought oil passed thorugh, that when I drove it after letting it sit, a huge cloud came about. The dealer replaced the turbo and that's what I found out it was fairly common. I'd do the same if I where you. If you're lucky you could have a new turbo on with the new seals. I got mine done at brookdale. No issues since.

Yeah, theres info on www.mazda3forums.com about this issue in the Mazdaspeed > Stock Issues forum. Apparently the turbo seals are bad and it can cause some serious smoking at idle. I'm pretty sure mazda has acknowledged it and you would be able to get the turbo rebuilt/replaced.

If they don't want to fix it, I would just say go park in front of your dealership and idle letting the smoke just pour out. That's a great advertisement for the car.

AJ, when they replaced your turbo, did you have aftermarket exhaust installed? I hear if I put the exhaust back to stock, it will cover up the smoke, and then I will not be able to get a new turbo.

LOL, I like the way you think Workdawg!
