Got this bit of info. from another board - Porky's has been sold to developers. It sounds like the same people that own the retirement center behind it. It's gonna be bulldozed and replaced with more of the same it sounds like. This isn't a rumor, it's a done deal. Nora's kids didn't want it so it sold.

I suppose even with the construction that's going to be occurring around the area, we were destined for a new location anyways. Alas, the place will be missed.

I think just about any Culver's around the metro is a good idea. Damn near all of 'em have giant parking lots, and the food's greasy and reasonably cheap.

Once things get rolling with construction of the light rail, there won't be any Uni cruising anymore. But I'm sure car folks will establish a new area somewhere. It's sad too, University's already a pain by my work with lane closures and backups all over.

Wherever we go, we'll have to talk to management and make sure they're car/loitering friendly.

Interesting news, it sounds like the historical society is trying to preserve porkys- at least in concept if not execution. Let's hope this works.
