Rally Cross

Just curious if there are any Rally Cross guys or gals in here. I know we have some drag queens and a few autu cross and road course peeps, but anyone into the rally cross aspect? I'm going through the debate on which car to look into as a project car to primarily use in rally cross, but also use to play for the first time in auto cross.

Rally Cross is fresh as hell, and i'd love to be into it, problem is, that requires a fairly dedicated car, something I do not currently have $$$ for. I'm all about pit crewing if it goes down though.

It requires far from a fairly dedicate car. I have a few vids of people out in there new stock or slightly modded scoobies, eclipses, talons, ect ect. All it is is on dirt, and even better when it's raining or snowing, mud and snow/ice.

Obviously you have a bit more of a chance on a couple scratches, but a dedicated car for it, nah, just a nice daily to beat on.

See, that's what i'm thinking though... I really only have dough for two cars right now, and I cannot see myself strapping offroad tires to either of them. (Although the Mini has almost perfect balance for such manuvers, if not ride height)

I've seen a few of them out there, that would be a hell of a ride. I still don't know if I'll do a Turbo II RX7 or a Miata.

I'd do Miata..... there are more of them to scavenge from if you screw it up. Plus they look cooler with rollcages.

AJ, do you have any info on when/where these go down? I think we need to have some group outings to amateur races like this.

Here is the 2007 schedule. I'm guessing the 2008 schedule will be similar. It's nice that they only take place every month or so.

My impulse, it is in the vbgarage... It should be a RALLYX monster... as well as a beast on road courses.

find a cheap Neon or older Subie. or for shyts & giggles a cavalier/sunfire, either body style (older or newer).

Subie is the only one of those I would even consider...... although if it were a J body or a neon, I would care less if I crushed it.
