RCA Wires for bose

Well with the bose in the MS3 I dont have RCA wires to plug into, so has anyone local soldered some in to the stock ones? I want to do this but I don't like messing with that electrical shit.

I'M OFFENDED!
Hmmm.... PM zero cool or Keke.... they've both done a lot of work on stereos..... I've seen keke's stuff in person, and it looks REALLY good. He had the stock bose and went to something else.

So if I'm understanding this correctly, you currently have an LOC to have an aftermarket amp. You want to get rid of your LOC and solder in RCA's.

Why do you want to do this? What don't you like about your LOC? Feel free to pm me or call me as well. Another thought...if you take out your LOC and solder in RCA's you will lose some adjustability. Here's what I did with my LOC, which might give you some other ideas.

if that box thing is a LOC then I dont have that. I just have a little oval thing connecting to my rear speaker wires and then it has rca plugs at the other end. and I want to get rid of it because it is HORRIBLE. The sub doesn't hit nearly as hard as it should and I have the dam thing all the way up

That is my LOC, there are many different versions of the LOC, mine happens to be a 6 channel. Do you have the GT or sport? If you have the GT, all you need to do is tap into your sub output, not rear speakers. If you have the sport, try a better LOC, you get what you pay for with electronics. If that doesn't work, then maybe it's your configuration we can take a look at. Like try turning the gain up on the LOC and amp until you get the sound you like.

I assume you have the LOC tapped into the outputs at the back of the headunit. The Bose headunits output close to a line-level signal, so if you're not getting enough juice at your sub's amp, then the LOC is padding down the signal too much.

How is your current LOC physically connected to the wiring? Did you use wire taps, or did you cut and splice the wiring? What I would do is find a set of RCA cables with female connectors on the ends, then cut the cables about 6 inches from the RCA connectors, strip the sheathing back and tap the wires to the wiring harness. You could solder them, but it's not critical to; just make sure that the connection is solid. I'd use female-connector cables so that you could easily disconnect your existing RCA cables (that go from behind the HU to the sub) if you needed to.

With the non-Bose systems, it's actually better to tap your LOC to the front speaker outputs, not the rears. People have found (inluding myself) that the non-Bose headunit does some frequency attenuation on the rear channels based on volume...so the more you turn the volume up, the worse your sub will sound. When I moved my LOC from the rear outputs to the fronts, my BassLink sounded much better.
