so i started playing with my wife's sewing machine, and started making shift boots. this was the first one I made, super simple and not very intraciate. if anyone is intrested, once i feel they are good enough to sell i might start making them to order. from super simple and i wanna be able to make a oem style four sided one like the stock ms3 ones.

pic is from my cell sorry. ill get better pics up this weekend. this one is a really light material so i just covered the leather boot that is on the car.

some imput would be awesome! lmk what ya'll think!!!

I read 'Started playing with my wifes sewing machine' and was all like OMGWTFBBQ? But you are making car accessories so I'll let it slide :p

+1 To what Jay said, i prefer leather myself but looks like it turned out very well. One in micro suede might be kind of cool.

Any chance you'd be willing to work one out for the MSP once you get the technique down? I think a custom shift boot would be hawtness.

I have no idea right now.... What all would you need to get one started? An actual boot, or could you just take measurements off the shifter?

Yeah, you just don't want to be messing them up when you get to buying more expensive materials. I think I paid about $80 for a shift boot, e-brake cover, and arm rest cover for the goat from redline goods, all genuine leather w/ custom colors and stiching. Being able to make your own though is pretty cool.

measurements would be a good start i think. whats the next event going on for mnmazda i could meet ya at?

A yard is a LOT of fabric though, you could make a few shift boots with even a 1/4 or 1/2 yard.
true that. the two pieces of material that i bought were pre-cut pieces that were 18x24 i think and i was able to make two out of one piece of material.
