I'll go if we decide on a day so I can get off. I have an extra ticket if someone wants it for $5.

i voted for whenever, but wednesday sounds perfect smaller crowds and stuff like that would be great

Friday also runs the risk of increased attendance due to the RNC starting on Saturday. The intent was to go earlier to avoid that.

Since we can buy discount tickets, I voted Wednesday as well. However, I will allow voting to run this week before closing the poll and setting it in stone.

Sounds like Jenny has a halfday that Wednesday (the 27th, she gets done at 1pm), so we could meet up with you guys there once she gets done with work (I'll take a half day also), assuming you'd be going in the morning.

Jana has payroll that day at work, so we may not go. We may just take off work a bit early and head to the lake if it's nice. I need Jet Skis! lol

If she can take the whole day off we'll probaby be at the fair from around 9:30 on.

Hey So Dan thought i should post this in here there that wednesday is hop on a ride day or something to that wording so you get to take the park and rides for only 3 dollars and you can get 2 dollars off of tickets at the gate that day. for those of you who take the bus to the fair like we do.

Info from the statefair website as Jenny mentioned:

• Hop On Transit Day, Wednesday, Aug. 27

Reduced fare on State Fair Express Bus service plus express and regular route bus-riders may request a coupon for $2 off a regular-priced admission ticket purchased at the gate.

Discount does not apply to visitors using discount admission tickets or the fair’s free Park & Ride service.

As Jenny said, we've always ridden the bus up there. It's easy, just park at a bus location, pay $5 or there abouts and get a ride up to the fair. The buses drop ya off right across the street from the fair. When you're done, you just hop on a bus and get a free ride back. It's convinient to say the least.

Wednesday has been set as the date. Now we just need to determine what time we want to show up there. I'll leave this one to the more experienced Fair people to decide when makes sense...

Well, regardless of what time it is decided, Jenny and I won't be heading out till probably about 1pm. Looks like most stuff opens at 9am though.

How would it work for people if we had meeting times inside the fair at, say 11am and 1pm? I know I like to get there a bit on the early side myself, but Nanami and I are cool just putzing around by ourselves until other people show up.

Lets start a new/official thread and the one of the mods/admin will remove this thread. That way we can focus on the actual event.
