State Fair 2009 August 27 - September 7

We're only a few weeks from the utter gorge festival otherwise known as the Minnesota State Fair! My personal preference is to do a weekday again for the smaller crowds and lower hassles.

My first choice would be September 3, as it is Seniors Day with no discounts for kids.

i'd be down for any day as of now. if i have a job by then, i'll have to look at my schedule.

is this going to be an all day event? or what is the general time frame we are looking at?

Jess and I will be there with some friends and all of our kids (ours and theirs), so we might see you guys there if you decide on the 2nd. Seems like the 2nd is right between 2 discount days, so it wasn't as packed as usual. The Wednesday of the week of the Fair was the same day you guys were there last year, but we just missed the crew after showing up at Nate and Allie's stand 5 minutes after you guys were there.

If you're planning to attend, I highly recommend getting your hands on a coupon book for food deals...even splitting one with someone would give you both more than enough options. Also, in years past, discount tickets were available at Cub in advance of the Fair so definitely watch for that to happen again this year.

In addition to the coupon books, Cub sells discount tickets in advance. So if you know you are going, both are a good deal to pick up.

I also vote for a week day, Sept 2-4th works for me.

Well i would go twice, never been to the MN state fair but I heard it was a good time. Im definitely going Saturday to see some Reo speedwagon and 38 Special.

Wednesday the 2nd is a discount day as well... Read and Ride Day.

I will already be there on the 30th for the kelly clarkson concert, otherwise i can go on a thurs. but i will have to figure out which on i have a half day on.

We're talking only 3 weeks away here, so trying to get a few more opinions before we set a day... as we have to work in vacation time requests and other planning exercises.

i start full time on the 20th, 8-4. so either weekend or the 7th would work best for me.
