And all I can say is dang... Too bad there's no manual option. For such a porker the thing can move. The interior space seemed a little cramped for such a big car, but I still thought it was comfortable. Heated and cooled seats, AWD, 365hp... Tempting!

I like that engine a lot. They also have that engine in the 2013 Explorer Sport. Depending on what the TT diesel CX-5 can tow, it is looking like the next vehicle we get will be one of those two.

Haha Jurgen, I sent an email to Mazda begging for the turbo diesel cx-5... I really like the cx-5 but find the skyactiv 2.0 underwhelming. I was also curious about the Buick regal gs and Subaru Legacy GT...

I really wish the Explorer Sport w/ the TT V6 wasn't going to be $40-$45k+ otherwise It'd be towards the top of my list for an SUV. Ford also needs to start offering manuals for all their ecoboost engines, the Fusion would be a tempting car if the larger 2.0 Ecoboost came w/ a manual in it, they only offer a manual w/ the 1.6 ecoboost in that car sadly.

Are you looking for AWD? The reason I'm asking is everything you've mentioned except the Regal GS offers it. That to me is the downfall of the GS....I loved the car from the time it was a rumor until it was finally produced. The FWD is what killed the idea of the car for me. If the weight and price were the same with an AWD system, then it would be worth it, but otherwise, no thanks.

Also, OP, did the SHO you drove have the SHO Performance package or no? I've heard from a few other people looking at them, that it really makes a big difference in enjoyment of the car.

The SHO I drive didn't have the performance package (at least I'm not sure)....
The lack of awd on the gs is disappointing, and honestly it's high price doesn't make it seem valuable compared to the SHO... No manual on the SHO makes me mad.
Wondering if I should check out the Audi S4, although the price turns me off (and bad repair records)...

Drove a SHO when they first came out. They they are very nice. Price tag is way out of my price range, but the car was fun to drive on dry, gravel and snow.

If the 2.0 Ecoboost was available in a manual for the Fusion, it would move. Even if it was a slightly detuned Focus ST setup, it would be plenty. An AWD manual version would be nice. I loved driving the Focus ST.

I've given up on the SHO but am looking at something similar... The Explorer Sport. Moar space and lots of power. Test drove one on Saturday and me likey. Checked out the CX5 and CX9 and they didn't do much for me.

They have sports on the lot? Or was it just a regular explorer? I realllly want one of those (well I want Kelsey to get one lol) but $40k+ for a Ford SUV just seems crazy.
