The Home Brew Thread

I recently rediscovered my old beer brewing kit from my under-age days and realized what a shame it was to have this just lying around collecting dust. So I pickup Raspberry Hefeweizen kit this week and now have 5 gallons of Hefeweizen fermenting in the basement. It's been a good ten years for me, so I'm a little unsure of how this one will turn out, but so far it's giving off a nice aroma.

Anyone else here dabbles with the home brew?

I'd love to do this, but not sure if I want to spend the time and $ on it just now. That sure sounds like a good beer though!

I also have a home brewing kit that's been collecting dust in my basement! I really really want to give it a try one of these days, but I never seem to find the motivation to get everything set up and going. Definitely interested in getting this thread going, maybe the discussion will prompt me to brew up a batch.

And AJ, the kits are really not that expensive. I got mine as an x-mas gift from my dad, and I think the retail was only about $120. But it's definitely one of those things that is likely to be purchased and then put aside if you aren't gung-ho. hehe

I would like to do this too. We could even have a little nano brew tasting one night when we all get ours going.

Now that sounds like some good times. In the mean time, I would love to collect, from the malt beverage connoisseurs that frequent this site, any non-twist off bottles you may acquire over the next week or so at next weeks (8/5) Porky's meet, or other time/location that would work for you.

Anyone got some links to some basic kits that would be good for looking at. $100-$150 investment I could handle, more than that.... eh.
