I'M OFFENDED!
I'm changing gears a bit this weekend...I'll be buying a Team Losi XX-4 4WD buggy on Thursday, with hopes of racing it on Sunday. I've never owned a 4 wheeler, so this should prove to be a fun time!

I'd still like to invite you guys down to check out the racing on Sundays!! It's great to watch, and even better to participate in!!
I don't know about anyone else, but i'd be very interested in checking this out. I do have a time constraint though as I work mornings on the weekend and usually cannot be anywhere until 12:30-1pm. What time does this all go down out there?

Cool. Maybe some time I will get down there and check it out. I doubt i'd ever set my lazy ass on the track, it'd be a miracle if I completed a single lap.

Ha...yeah, I hear ya...although we've definitely got a wide variety of driving abilities at the track, so no matter what there's always someone else that's having a harder time than you are!

Mark, the track owner, does allow open practice on non-race days, so you guys could always get together and head down there for some low pressure test & tune sessions to get your feet wet. Mark's got a nice little hobby shop onsite too, with some of the best prices in town, as well as a healthy offering of r/c chit chat on the side!

Definately worth checking out then. Appreciate the info. Always good to have someone who knows what the hell they are doing on the track/setup/whatever side of it.

To give you an idea of my "skill" I crashed it into a house and broke the left A-arm on my first trip outside of my parking lot. Awesome. Good thing A-Arms are cheap.

Hampton MN he said. According to Taya it's like 20 minutes south of my place. We could make a day out of it or something.

Yep, head south on Hwy 52 towards Rochester...when you get close to Hampton, you'll see the water tower. Take the first road going west into town, which goes right next to the water tower, and you'll run right into the place.

Here's what the track website says about practicing...

Practice at the barn

I thought about this last night and made an executive decision.

If you race or make purchases at the barns hobby shop, the practice is free. Well sort of you may have to occaisionaly push a broom, rake, shovel, or sprinkler.

Practice days at this point would be Weds, Thurs, Friday. If for some reason I'm not here make yourself at home. There is a outside electrical outlet on the North end of the building.

As always practice on race days is limited to racers signed up for the days festivities.

How late are they open? I'd be MORE than happy to huck it down there a Friday after work and fly around at night, and help out with grooming as needed.

EDIT: I are retarded. Track is open from 4pm until dark. That's a lot of racing!

Jay........ we need to make this happen, soon.....

Are your T4's ready to runs, or kits? If you have the kit version of the truck (either the Team or Factory Team), then the tires that came with the trucks (should be Holeshot rears and Edge fronts) will work great on the track. That's what most are running on race day. The RTR truck tires might be ok too, but usually the rubber is harder on the RTR's to make them last longer on the street and for bashing.

Are there restrictions on what kind of tires he lets you run on his track? I've been using mine for bashing on all kinds of surfaces so my pins are in pretty rough shape (bought a nice new set, but idiot me glued the front tires on the rear dishes, and vice versa!)

I have a T4 Factory Team, came with the Pro-line Holeshot pins and pro-line dishes. Jay has the t4 kit, but it wasn't the factory team. He also has a shit ton of tires. I dinno, i'm still just geting my feet wet, this is all new to me. The last time I had a decent RC car was back in the days of mechanical speed controls and no reverse.

No, you can run whatever you want. Just thought I'd suggest a tire combo that works on the track whether it's wet or dry, and that most likely came with your trucks. :)

Workcopter is stowed safely in my desk for ocassional backroom shenanigans. I'm getting the shipment of my mini-workcopter today so I'm pretty pumped. For some reason I kind of feel like Iraq taking in illegal arms shipments and dealing with no fly zones, lol.

Ok, you already got almost fired for workcopter once, and so the solution is..... buy more workcopters? You crazy.
