*The Cirque show @ the Bellagio "O" was pretty cool.

*If you have time checkout freemont street at night, they have zip-lines, entertainers, pretty awesome light show, etc.

*Check out the fountains in front of the Bellagio at night, they do a water/light show to music every 15 minutes or so after 9pm IIRC.

*There is a ride to the top of the eifel tower there (Paris) where you can look out over all of vegas, it's awesome at night, and if you time it right you can watch the fountains at the bellagio (it's right across las vegas blvd from it).

*A day trip to Hoover Dam if you haven't been there. I think it's an hour drive or so from Vegas. The 'expanded' tour is well worth the money, you get to go down inside the tunnels within the Dam and see a bunch of stuff the regular tour doesn't. Lots of picture taking opportunities, you can also walk out over the new bridge they built which is pretty amazing. They have boat tours that go out on Lake Mead as well which are pretty cool from what I've heard.

*Casino Royal has $1 or $2 Michelob beers and margaritas. The margaritas aren't all that large but it's dang cheap.

*Eat Breakfast @ Hash house a Go Go...the food is pretty amazing and the portions...omg the portions lol. I had a bacon waffle there and it was omg delicious. It's always busy but worth the wait.

There's a lot of good info on this forum if you spend some time searching and looking around:
http://www.vegasmessageboard.com/forums/

Also - Where are you guys staying? Many hotels will upgrade your room if you tip the person at the check-in desk. I slipped the guy a $20 between my license and credit card as we were checking into the Palazzo and asked if there were any complimentary room upgrades available, he tried to get us a suite (made like 3-4 phone calls) but I guess it was taken, we got upgraded to a high floor strip view premium room, would have been another $200-300 normally. I think there's a thread on fatwallet or that vegas forum on the success level people have had at various hotels.

I'll post some more later.

Thanks!! Did you like the Palazzo? I was looking at either Mirage, Mandalay Bay, Bellagio or Venetian to stay at.

The Palazzo was amazing, the rooms even the 'regular' rooms are pretty fantastic. It's a sister hotel to the Venetian and is just to the north of it. The pool area is pretty amazing, it has like 3-4 medium size pools with tons of seating, and makes it feel less like one GIANT resort since they are all kind of separated away from each other. I would stay there again without question. I might try and stay at the Bellagio next time if we can find a decent deal on a room there as I really love that place and it's in a great location. All those Casino's / Hotels you listed are pretty good location wise though. I haven't really been in Mandalay Bay or the Mirage to comment on how nice they are.

Another tip - The Bellagio buffet does a lunch buffet that lasts till like 3:30, if you're in line at like 3:15-3:20 and get seated, you pay lunch prices. They swap food over for their expensive friday night dinner at around 3:45-4pm so you can grab a drink, chill for 15-20 minutes then partake in the delicious dinner buffet for lunch prices! :notbad:

Srsly, this oughtta be stickied somewhere (the Dive perhaps) so those of us that don't go to Vegas more than once every 5 or 10yrs can track down the info and it can be updated as things change. Awesome info in here! Makes me wish I was going! AJ, any rides picked out for your track package yet?

This is the list I'm working down from right now.

Ferrari 430 Scuderia
Lamborghini Gallardo LP550
Ferrari 458 Italia - reviews lean to this being the Ferrari if I'm only taking one (thanks to Picklz for making me look at that one!)
Porsche 997 Turbo S - fastest accelaration - 0-60 in 2.6
McLaren MP4-12C - Highest HP of the group, 600
Mercedes SLS AMG

All over 500hp though and all would be amazing.

Honest to God dude, my list would be exactly the same with the exception of the Gallardo LP550 (I chose the Aventador LP700 when I was playing the 'what if it was me making the trip' game). If I were picking (and spending my own money) I'd drop the 430 Scuderia since the Italia is already on the list too, but if it's one you've wanted to drive, then why the hell not, right? What an awesome experience!! PLEASE tell me you're kicking in the extra $80 to get an in-car video of your experience. Heck, I'd even be willing to throw a little something toward it as a graduation gift and I be there are others on here that would too, especially if you post up the video (and don't drive like pussy!).

You could start a "Travel Advice" thread or something like that and link to this thread (or copy relevant info into yours). No need to put it in the LD I don't think. That would make a lot more sense than having a specific "Las Vegas" thread stickied.

To stay on topic, I think I'd have to pick the following:

McLaren (Relatively rare)
Porsche 997 Turbo S (dat Porsche, and 2.6seconds!)
Ferrari F430 Scuderia (seems like I remember hearing the scuderia was a better drivers car than the others)
Nissan GT-R (come on, OH NO GODZILLA)

Yes I'll be getting video added, no question on that one. If i had to decide now I'd like do a 3 car package and it would be:

Ferrari 458 Italia
Porsche 997 Turbo S
McLaren MP4-12C

The thing is, I don't think I could go wrong with any list actually when I think about it.

Good list AJ. I'd second the three choices, do the video!
Agreed, if I were going with 3, those would be the 3 for me too....although it would be hard to walk away without being able to say I rocked a Lambo...lol

Man, this is a great thread! I have been lurking around this forum since the Alignment day and must say you guys have some good threads but the Vegas tips are amazing. I agree, Picklz you may have missed a calling. AJ I am seriously jealous of your trip, I think I will be speaking to the wife tonight about going. A Vegas trip is probably not going to happen for a while though as my second child is due to be born in the next two weeks or so. So be sure to have a ton of fun and post up your experience for the rest of us to enjoy.

Glad you guys are enjoying the info. It's basically all the info I came up with before and during the trip Kelsey and I took last spring. We really just picked 2-3 things we really wanted to do and scheduled those, then just picked and choose from the list of other stuff as we felt like doing things, kept the trip laid back and not feeling like we were stuck on a specific schedule the whole time.

Few more:

Take a walk through the Venetian - they have tons of shops that are lined along canals and makeshift streets indoors that make it feel like you are in Venice, there is a huge square type area with simulated night sky, street lights, bridges over the canals, etc that is pretty amazing. They do boat rides up and down the canals as well.

The roller coaster @ NY NY is pretty fun, I would most certainly go on it again.

Ellis Island Restaurant just a block or two off the strip has a steak dinner special that includes steak, potato, green beans, salad, bread, and a beer for $7.99, not sure if it's advertised or you have to ask for it, we didn't eat there but I've heard from a few people that the food is pretty decent if you're looking for an inexpensive meal.

Lagasse's Stadium is a pretty cool sports book/bar/restaurant that has 100+ TV's, stadium seating, etc. It's in the Palazzo http://www.vegas.com/searchagent/restaurant/ViewRestaurant.do?restaurantId=5344 Tuesday thru Friday from 3-7pm they have $5 appetizers and $3 beers.

I wish I could recommend some really cool things but the things I know of have been posted, the rest of the stuff I either don't remember or you wouldn't be interested in.

I need to go back. So much cool stuff I couldn't afford out there that would be fun. Plus I still want to see the Hoover Dam...stupid dam tour was a no go for us since there were high winds that caused damage to something in 06.

Just got back from a trip out west and my first time in Vegas. A group of guys and I flew into Vegas for a bachelor party, 2 Fridays ago. We drove up to Zion park in Utah first for a bachelor party, hiked and canyoneered till Sunday, then drove back to Vegas. My GF met up with us on Monday and I ended up staying there till Thursday with her, then we drove to LA and explored around there till Sunday, then drove back to Vegas and flew home. What a trip!

As far as things to see and do in Vegas:

- Im not a big gambler but we partied pretty hard with some people we knew there and we stayed in the Mandalay Bay. That hotel is probably the nicest ive stayed in. The pool area is awesome. They have a lazy river and a wave pool, as well as a topless pool and 3 other smaller pools.

- We ended up walking most of the strip every day, its a haul, so bring good shoes or plan on spending lots of time in cabs. The traffic there sucks.

- We saw 2 Cirque shows, which were really cool and Id recommend seeing one of them. If you want to see bewbs and acrobatics along with humor, go to Zoomanity. If you want a regular Cirque show, go see Mystere. Both were really cool but I vote boobs. haha

- If you can get some free passes into some night clubs, do that. People roam around handing out free passes so get on the lists. Be prepared for 8-10 dollar drinks though. Regular bars work too, if you want to see some eye candy, go to the Gilleys saloon attached to treasure island. Cowgirls ftw!

-Also hit the Foundation room on the top of Mandalay at night, it has a patio that over looks the entire strip. Coolest place there we hit I think.

Here are some links I used when planning what to see and eat. The buffets are something id recommend. Mandalay's had seafood and was only 25 I think for dinner? There are so many options though.

The biggest disappointing thing in Vegas, is that the "Sex" aspect of it isnt there at all.. I mean unless you go to the pool you hardly see any skin. Also there are no strip clubs on the strip. Total Fail.

Also if you dont know where anything is, its really hard to find things and know the little nooks and crannys. It really helps if you meet up with people that have been to Vegas before. The first time you go, youll figure out what you dont enjoy there.

Well, we are finally pulling the trigger on the Vegas trip, though it's a bit of last minute planning. Looks like cost wise I'm going to have to pick 2 of the three above and I'm really fucking torn. For pure driving experiance I'm leaning to:

Ferrari 458 Italia
Porsche 997 Turbo S
