I would like to provide lunch Sat...sandwiches galore! (think Subway camping style) along with chips and whatever else looks good. Any objections??

And yes, I am up for keg (and so would be my plus 1) but I will settle for something else if needed. I am hoping weather holds out as well. A great lunch before tubing would just be spectacular!

My wife (Jess, not Hot Ice) and I will do breakfast Saturday morning for the group. Jess said she'd probably drink off the keg. She prefer any type of light beer, but it's not a deal-breaker if everyone decides otherwise. I'm a mixed-drink guy myself, so I probably won't hit the keg unless I get a hankering for a homemade Chelada beer (aka poor man's bloody mary) in the morning, which I'll be happy to chip in on. I have a friend that grew up in Black River Falls, so I'll see if I can get a recommendation on an inexpensive and easily-accessible place to pick up a keg too.

I talked with Ed from the campground today to verify we're okay to bring a small pop-up camper and it's a go, so we'll be towing a little comfort.

A couple of people have mentioned heading down earlier on Friday (Jay and Jess). We're planning on leaving Fridley around 10:30am on Friday, so if people want to try to meet up somewhere in Woodbury or something on the way out of town that would be cool. We have to make a quick stop in Eau Claire to drop off the kids at Grandma and Grandpa's house, but that'll be just about right for a lunch stop for the rest of the gang if that works out. If not, no biggie. I figure we'll probably end up getting to the campsite around 2pm or so at the latest, and that's WITH a stop to get the keg and top off the ice in the coolers.

SO looking forward to this!!!

Yeah, if you could get a recommendation on a place to get a keg, that'd be a big help vs calling blindly. I'll try to get some advance info so I can tell in advance what it'll cost and what everyone's share would be. That way we don't need to decide spur of the moment.

Also, Nanami and I will cover a dinner (doesn't matter which one I guess). Probably some meat for the grill, and some kind of tasty camp-friendly accompaniments :)

I'll be ready to head out Friday morning as well, I'm in the south metro.

Jess, do you know what time you and +1 will be coming through the Cities on Friday? You're coming the farthest, so we might be able to plan on meeting as you're zipping through.

Anybody willing to take on dinner Friday night or breakfast in Sunday? Those are the 2 meals left. Anyone heard whether any of the Maybes are coming?

We will probably be cruising through the cities around 10 or so. We have a breakfast date at 8 and that is expected to go until 9 or so.
I can do breakfast on Sunday if no one else claims it by Thursday. I am not sure if it will be fancy though.

Yes, a for sure count would be good for those of us preparing meals. It would be good to know if there will be 10 or more than 10.

Also, do you guys want me to bring a garbage can for keg cooler or does someone have a better option?

Actually looking back, we have all meals accounted for other than Sunday breakfast. So...is Matt going to provide Sunday breakfast? If not, I will.

Matt and Kelsey have confirmed they are not coming. We can throw in some extra supplies for the second breakfast as well. NBD.

Any more info on liquor stores in the area?

Ok well I was thinking bagels, cream cheese, fruit...if you guys want eggs and the works we can do that too. Opinions?

So is anyone up for meeting somewhere along 94 around 10:30 on Friday morning? And did you decide if I need to bring the can? Yeah any news on the liquor store/keg? :)

I sent a FB message to a friend of mine that's from Black River Falls and haven't heard anything back yet, but it's Wisconsin, so I'm not especially worried about it at this point. I'll give her another day or two to get back to me, because she isn't on much.

Jess, I think it would be a safe bet to have you bring whatever keg cooling apparatus you have available if it'll fit. If you have time, can you please throw a quick recap and head count in the first post of the thread, so we're all on the same page? Just makes it easy to see everything all in one place. I took a quick look for easy-off/easy-on access to I-94 and I was thinking this might be the easiest meet point. Shall we say 10:30 or so in the Walmart parking lot? We can head out as soon as all that commit to meet are present and head East. Stop in at Eau Claire for lunch (while Pete and Jess drop off kids at Pete's folks house) and then head down to BRF, stop at the liquor store to pick up a keg/ice/any last minute items not purchase at Wally World in Woodbury and then head out to Lost Falls to arrive 2:30-3:00 or so? Plenty of time to setup camp, tap the keg, perhaps take a dip and get dinner going. Sounds like a helluva good time just thinking about it!! Totally open to other peoples' ideas here, but throwing it out there as an option.

I keep trying to edit the first post and it won't work. It won't save...just spinning ball of doom. Here is the info:

Ok here is a recap and the final as we know it as of 8/16/11...
For sure coming:
1. Jess and Crista and providing Sat. lunch and light breakfast Sunday
2. Jay and Nanami and providing Sat. breakfast
3. Josh and Shelley and providing a dinner
4. Pete and Jess and providing a dinner

And as you all can see, there is plenty of room for more to join in. We have a huge group camping site on the beach. There will be tubing, drinking, eating, great conversations, and lots of wood burning, probably some roasting over the fire as well. This will be the fifth year and it is always a blast, no matter the weather. So come one, come all!

Looks good, although I believe Jay and Nanami had mentioned doing a dinner and Pete and Jess were planning on breakfast Saturday morning, right Jay?

Don't forget to bring along a little cash to pay for tubing, and please check out the campground website for their policy on pets if anyone is planning on bringing a furry friend along. This is gonna be huge.

Yeah, I was thinking we were going to bring a dinner, but I wasn't really paying attention to who else had posted what... hehe

No problem. I think that is the way I wrote it first and then tried to remember. Please bring what you want. Jay do dinner and Pete do breakfast. Sounds great either way! I will edit the post!

More spinning doom! I guess this server just isn't friendly to me editing posts. It will be fine guys, just bring the goods.

**Also are we thinking 8 or 16 gal keg? Just making sure I bring the right container. :)

I think a half-barrel will be good for this size group. I'd rather suck it dry and have to dig into some cans/bottles than have to endure the shame of returning a half-full keg. lol

YSOSLO

+1 to that. I don't know if they'd know what to do in Wisconsin with returned beer...lol
