Fuel economy in your Mazda (or other car if you don't have a Mazda)?

There's no way I can buy a car that soon. Like I've said, my credit is still fucked and unless I won some money...

We will see though. If by some miracle I could buy a car, I would definitely consider yours. I would return mine to stock, sell all the aftermarket parts, sell my car, and POSSIBLY be able to get yours, but that's a long shot right now.

Oh yeah, not that it helps a lot, but it definitely helps...my review is in a month at the new job and if my boss didn't lie to me, I can expect a $2/hr raise...maybe a little more. I sure hope he wasn't yanking my chain or I search for a new job. That would help me afford something different. I'll just sell all my possessions and see where we are...lol.

Lol I have one graphic and it looks like it belongs there. And sorry but i feel like emblem deleting is an old fad that is for people that don't like what their car is so they hide it. I like people to know what the car is. And you know my wheels are just painted right?

Also. If you bought my car you can do whatever the he'll you want to it Haha.
And the reverse rake on that ms6 looks atrocious.

I'm not a fan of the stock wheels for some reason...that's all. I found that people cut the M out of the circle...that looks kind of cool to me....but yeah, I will always be a fan of clean no badge look...just how I am.

I'm surprised I actually put a decal on my window...my Challenge Accepted one from Picklz...I'm against any stickers/decals on cars, but I figured fuck it. I'll add one or two more strategically placed ones.

I think the next car will be a Mazda2...almost completely sure. 5spd of course. But there's a decent little following for it...CS has a decent amount of stuff available. I think I would go with their exhaust and the Injen intake. I think I could easily get mid 30's out of it daily...maybe more.

It's practical, it's relatively cheap, and the reviews are all positive...it should be fun around town...I won't be doing auto-x or drag or anything so I don't care about making tons of power.

I think I'm set on it. Now I have to test drive one to get a feel for it. Then whenever I can afford one, I'll probably get it...guessing another year with my car. Might be time to slowly turn my car stock again and sell off everything soon. So glad that I saved all my stock parts.

Of course the big thing for me would be handling...springs and front sway for sure. Probably strut bar (not sure what the strut setup is on this car if it's worth it), torsion bar, rear chassis brace? Not to mention upgrade to 16" wheels with more meaty tires...205 or 215 wide.

Yeah, having a hatch (even though it's a small car) would be extremely nice. Easy enough to pull the carseat out and throw whatever I need to in the back...more space than my Cobalt I think.

No, not in the least. Loosing 10mpg > Living with a 22+ year old econobox

I usually get 23ish in the MS6, maybe a couple extra if I'm on an all highway trip. Driving it like I stole it most of the time.
It's my DD, and that's perfectly fine with me.

It was bought to be the econobox. The fact that it's got a power/weight ratio more similar to your vette than your MS6 is just a bonus.

Totally impressed with the mileage I get out of it since sticker says 18/25.

I average 25-27mpg in my Grand Prix GTP Fuelly.

I'm yet to take delivery on my Mazda3 hatch, but based on the EPA estimates, I'm hopefully looking to get around 35-37mpg, hopefully 40+!! I drive mainly highway.

And with that estimate, every 30000 miles driven, you'll save about $1000 in fuel costs. Been looking into fuelly numbers lately.

It's definitely going to add up if I'm going to continue to drive 55k-60k mile annually. It's going to be amazing!

Oh, I would love to do a job where I can drive all over hell. I just go cruising an road tripping all the damn time. It helps relieve stress!

k.trazy...you really do drive a lot...just looked at your Fuelly for the Mz3...great mileage. Come spring, I think I'm going to start looking more closely at vehicles and I've decided after looking at the 2's, they aren't big enough. The Mz3, MS3, and CX-5 are the ones I'm looking at now.

Chances are I'll be living at home again so I can help my mom fix up the house/make additions to it and then I can get my finances in order as well. This will allow me to purchase a new car (all ready talked to her about it in case I need help with the loan since my credit is pretty much shot and she's good with helping me if needed...hopefully trading my Cobalt in and having a down payment will be enough but we'll see).

I'm torn between the want of a fun car (MS3) and the practical/efficient side (CX-5/Mz3 Skyactiv). I really want to wait a little while to see what happens with diesel, but I don't want to wait too long.

I keep reading reviews/watching reviews...including the performance reviews done by MotorTrend and others...GTI/Golf R looked good for a while, but way too expensive...Speed3 wins the matchups...the Cobalt SS/TC did all right and for power/performance, I think it should win, but then I realize that they really take into account everything of the car...of course GM SUCKS BALLS when it comes to quality interior...so Mazda is my choice at the moment. I'm still interested in knowing more about the Focus ST as well.
