I wouldn't even waste time with anyone else for an alignment. Pretty much all of the serious autox guys go to Jeff for alignments, and if there's anyone out there who demands perfection in an alignment, it'd be them.

how much should i expect to pay to lower my car- do i need just springs?
if a shop does it, your probably looking at least at $250. springs only works, but doing struts at the same time is easier since you are also removing those in the process.

NERD ANSWER ALERT- Technically yes, you only need springs. But- it's a bad idea just to do springs. If you buy springs w/o matching shocks/struts, or at least ones designed to accept a higher spring ratio to stock- you're going to run into problems. #1- the shocks are going to be underdamped in relation to the springs and you're going to have shocks that are constantly out of their usable range, which can make the car ride like shit. This also causes the possibility of you constantly riding the bumpstops, which is a REALLY bad idea.

#2- if you drive an ms3, the shocks in these are NOTORIOUS for going bad early, even without lowering springs on it. You do springs, you're about guaranteed to blow your shocks (particularly the rears) in less than 20k. Save a little squatch and order a set of Konis with your springs. Shocks/struts have to come out, at least mostly, to do springs anyhow, might as well put new ones back in.

Depends on what springs and shocks.

Depending on your mileage, I wouldn't say shocks are a necessity. I installed springs on my car at 20k miles and it's now owned by someone else but they haven't replaced shocks yet and have 50k miles on their odo. Still the same ride quality at 20k.

My springs were ~$200. Alignment was $60. Case of decent beer is $25 so $285 and your springs are installed and the car's aligned.

Your MS6 does look like a monster truck. Get low.

Mine stock:

Mine lowered (H&R springs with a 225/40/18 tire):

I'm no expert, but I would guess that doing something like that would mess up your handling and possibly put extra stress on other components.

At that rate you might as well just heat your factory springs and call it good. But for real though, just buy H&R's all the way around and call it good.

depending on what kind of car you have, there are ways around this. for example, if you have a sedan and there is also a wagon/hatch version of your car. you get the hatch/wagon springs since they are designed for more weight in the rear and should compensate for your audio weight and drop your car as if you didn't have the audio weight in the rear.
