if a shop does it, your probably looking at least at $250. springs only works, but doing struts at the same time is easier since you are also removing those in the process.how much should i expect to pay to lower my car- do i need just springs?
NERD ANSWER ALERT- Technically yes, you only need springs. But- it's a bad idea just to do springs. If you buy springs w/o matching shocks/struts, or at least ones designed to accept a higher spring ratio to stock- you're going to run into problems. #1- the shocks are going to be underdamped in relation to the springs and you're going to have shocks that are constantly out of their usable range, which can make the car ride like shit. This also causes the possibility of you constantly riding the bumpstops, which is a REALLY bad idea.how much should i expect to pay to lower my car- do i need just springs?
Depends on what springs and shocks.SLyness18 said:alright- to do it with shock/struts and springs by myself how much am i looking at (plus allignment)? my friend says my ms6 looks like a monster truck stock- he drives an evo tho so what does he know
I'm no expert, but I would guess that doing something like that would mess up your handling and possibly put extra stress on other components.what kinda drop did u do? im kinda an audio nut so im gonna have a trunk full so i think im just gonna drop the front and let the subs lower the rear- any comments or suggestions are appreciated- im very new to upgrading cars(performance)
thanks anyone and everyone! i really enjoy finally having a car worth working on!
At that rate you might as well just heat your factory springs and call it good. But for real though, just buy H&R's all the way around and call it good.what kinda drop did u do? im kinda an audio nut so im gonna have a trunk full so i think im just gonna drop the front and let the subs lower the rear- any comments or suggestions are appreciated- im very new to upgrading cars(performance)

depending on what kind of car you have, there are ways around this. for example, if you have a sedan and there is also a wagon/hatch version of your car. you get the hatch/wagon springs since they are designed for more weight in the rear and should compensate for your audio weight and drop your car as if you didn't have the audio weight in the rear.what kinda drop did u do? im kinda an audio nut so im gonna have a trunk full so i think im just gonna drop the front and let the subs lower the rear- any comments or suggestions are appreciated- im very new to upgrading cars(performance)
