Hyundai Genesis Event - July 20th

I got a vip invite to this: linky

It looks pretty cool... an advanced chance to drive the new Genesis Sedan and some of its competitors on a course at the MOA. Claimed competitors = BMW, Mercedes, and Cadillac.

James and I have both signed up (you can sign up without VIP code) for 3pm on Sunday, July 20th. When I signed up I said I was bringing up to 4 guests. Anyone who wants to is welcome to join me. Slots are RSVP'd, so I can't guarantee you'd get to drive anything if you're over the 4 people I've invited (or even if you are one of the 4, I don't know how busy it'll be), but you can go signup yourself.

Just thought I'd let people know it's going on.

People claiming spots as my guests:

Remember... you can sign yourself up. I don't have any idea how big this is, so it might be a good idea. Even if you sign up yourself, I'll claim you as my guest if it'll help get you in a car or something.

Wow, I got all excited and signed up before reading when every one else was showing up. Oh well, I took a 5:30 slot on Saturday. I hope they let us really open these things up.

Wow, I never would have imagined there was this much interest for a $45K Hyundai. If I'm going to spend this kind of cash on a vehicle I'd be driving a Mercedes C350 or a Bimmer 330 or a friggin' sweet Lotus or something. The Genesis looks nice enough, but in was expecting it to cost about $10K less.

It's been a very long time since anyone could accuse me of being under 21...

Anyway, the point of going to this event is NOT because we have any interest in buying the Genesis sedan. Instead, it's out of general automotive interest, the chance to see what Hyundai is capable of, and well, to aggessively drive a car that's not yours.

this is a great deal, I saw the genisis and was expecting it to be a bmw/merc knock off. It looked great, and then I saw the tiny tires and tini brakes w/HUGE wheel well gap and was like.....yep, this is a Hyandai!

I will hopefully get in on this, just to flog a beemer and a merc!
