MNmazda Weekly Wednesday Night Meet(Archived)

YSOSLO

is the word, beotch
The reason we decided against rotating locations is that it would almost certainly just end up being a north-dwellers meet and a south-dwellers meet. I would be open to changing the location, but I suspect rotating locations would not end up working.

Also, you knew where the BWW meet was when you bought your house :p
BURN!!

BWW FTMFW....I'd be up for it if I can convince the wife. Odds are good though, since her Dad is coming for a month-long visit this weekend, so it would be the last hurrah for awhile.

As long as there isn't two meets at seperate BWW on the same day, I don't see it becoming divided really. I guess that people who don't want to drive a long way might not show up when the meet is further from them, but I drove 30-45 mins up to Porky's damn near every week this summer, I think some of the people who live up there can man up every other week.

I thought we had put the nix on the Roseville location due to the poor service and were doing the Columbia Heights location instead...

Also, I thought it was better when we were doing a variety of places rather than just BWW every single time... However, I may be skewed by my opinion of BWW.

It's not that the rotating location would be too far to drive. It's that, if you know that next week people are meeting at the BWW 10 minutes from your house, you're going to be far less inclined to drive 40 minutes to the meet this week. Nothing to do with manning up... just simple human nature. I bet the first few weeks would work fine, but then laziness would take over. lol

Yeah, Roseville is pretty much the closest you can get to Porky's...just straight up Snelling. West St. Paul is further south, but also further east. I don't think the service at the Roseville one is any better or worse than any other BWW I've been to.

Perhaps to solve the whole "we sould rotate where the meet is so I don't have to drive as far" problem is to just pick another restaurant that is in the dead center of the metro and has only one location?

I think for the first meet, BWW Roseville is probably the safe bet.

If it goes down, I'm in... probably around 6ish for me.

Lets decide on something, I have a meeting till 4ish and don't want to sit in traffic so Ill probably come eat wings and drink beer for a while. I'd vote Bdubs but Hooters is fine too.

I like the idea where we take 4-6 places of different types all around the metro and we rotate them through. This will give a greater selection of food items and also do more to balance out the driving... true some people will generally go to the places they prefer to eat or are closer, but I think it is a better and fairer idea overall.

Perhaps rotate Boston's in the Northwest, Red Robin in the West, BWW's in the North Central, and Old Chicago somewhere in the in South... or add to it and split the regions more...

We had 8 people show up to BWW last night...

as you can see, not a single person from the North metro.

Interestingly, this group also consists of most of the usual suspects for the Wednesday meet. For this reason, we've decided that the meet next week will be in the south metro. Location is open to discussion IMO... but the BWW in Eagan was thrown out as an option.
