since everyone wants/likes the pizza idea we'll go with that. who's up for hosting the pizzapooloza? and what kind of timeframe should we look at, somewhere around mid-end april?

Pizza is rather limiting to make an entire "palooza" out of... but if that is what people want... I'll go along with it. The original idea was that the "palooza" was for an ingredient, not a finished food.

how is pizza limiting?

this crust, hand toosed, thick, chicago style, flatbread(s), saucese, cheese combos, and a selection of toppings galor... not to mention grilled vs baked....

we can make it a doughpooloza, but everyone decided to make some sort of pizza with the dough...

While there are options, I would consider it more limiting than an ingredient that can be used in a wider variety of ways. You're limited to one basic format versus a wide variety of formats.

There are indeed many ways to make a pizza, but it's still a pizza. It's a crust, with a sauce and toppings on it.

It doesn't follow the "_______palooza" platform of an ingredient. Pizza is a type of food.

I think squid would be a little too restrictive too... as part of a broader seafood would be interesting... non-fish seafood or something like that.
