Speedtest!

I'M OFFENDED!

Yeah, single DSL pipeline, 80 unit apt building. Hey, I'm not paying for it.

Oh, and it was over a wireless router.

How the hell are some of you comcast people getting 30mb/s??? Does that powerboost shit only work on residential accounts or something? My upload hovers at about 2mb/s for the first 3/4 of the test, then falls back to 1.

PowerBoost supposedly is for the first 10 seconds or 20MB (or something along those lines) of a download, and the first like 5 seconds of an upload. At the beginning of the upload test I hover around 4Mbps, but after a couple seconds it drops back to about 2Mbps.

don't you mean 20Mb/s? Or 2MB/s?

Either way I'm seeing some shitty speeds for "business class" service. Methinks I'd be better off dumping that crap and going back to the residential account of the same price.

James you can get 1.5Mb DSL from Qwest for around $25 a month. How much are you paying now?

We don't have Qwest for phone service here, and I would never do business with them given any choice in the matter (I've had BAD experiences with them). That said, I pay $48 a month for internet. When I get the new TV, I'll reshop for product.

Yeah, thats insanely expensive for the speeds you're hitting. I pay less than that for Comcast broadband.

I bet that stuff is highly cached by a comcast proxy server. I see sustained download speeds of about 8Mbit and upload speeds of 1Mbit here.

Wacked part is this is on the east coast, where our corporate hq is. Not to shabby.

Here's the one from the local server

Work, yet I really don't notice the difference...

Yeah, I know it's pricey, but it's paying full price without any bundling or deals.

I'm kind of glad you posted this, that's a patheticly low score, gonna see what I can get from DSL...

That's exactly what I'm getting Jurgen. I could've sworn I was getting 8000-10000 kb/s several months ago on the same service level.

So are they getting it only because of "speed boost?" How do you get that?
