Winter is coming!!

Owl Exterminator!!
Just figured with the cold season right around the corner, I would test the waters on some winter recreational activities for the group to keep the members actively engaged. I know how lazy we all are but I think some fun events could be done.

1.) Snowboard/ski trip
I know not everyone here probably does this. But the nice thing is that we can all cruise out to Welch Village/Afton Alps/Wherever, even if you don't. That's why they have rentals. Bring the whole family for a day of winter fun. The less experienced people and stick together, and the more experienced can go off and do their thing. And the group can meet up back at the chalet for food and shens.

2.) Tubing/sledding day
Another good family fun event. Find a hill, meat up, do some aggressive tubing and hangout. We could even do a winter BBQ. I know there is a hill right by my place in Eagan great for Tubing (they have the tubes). And we can see if we can't break Tom's other leg.

3.) Hockey
This one is a long shot but I figured I'd see if there are any people here who would be into a little hockey match/ice skating day. Equipment is cheap and most places have multiple rinks so you can just plain skate around if you wanted.

Awesome ideas.
1. I don't do either really... so I would pass.
2. Fuck yeah.
3. If there was some rental gear I could probably be in. If we did something like broomball (shoes on ice), that wouldn't require as much skating skill and would probably be just about as much fun.

I'M OFFENDED!
1- No. I don't do well with sticks tied to my feet.
2- Possibly. Tubing is the fun.
3- I can't skate for shit. I'd do broomball though.

1. Hell ya
2. probably
3. broomball and I'm in. I can skate ok.... but not enough to be an effective player.

1) lulz. I'd be in as long as there where others who have never done it as well and would look like a tool with me on a "bunny hill". mostly I'd be in for das booze.
2) likley in for this
3) wtf is hockey? Is that the sport where we import the sweeds in to play?

That is why option 1 > ice fishing. Snow bunnies and hot tubs. Those aren't around out on the lake.

Definitely will have to get something together for snowboard/ski trip and for tubing/sledding/winter shens day. An epic mnmazda team snowball match would be pretty freaking sweet as well.

I have not been skiing for years but I would probably be in for that. Would be fun to get a condo up in lutsen or something like that too for after-slope shens

You brought up a point i was thinking of jay.
Alright lemme ask something more in depth.

Who would be down for an overnighter/weekend cruise to lutsen for a day or two of shredding the slopes and condo drinking and gaming shenanigans?

Lutsen, especially if it's on a weekend when they have some live entertainment and stuff in the evenings would be epic, another awesome option would be the cabins they have that are ON the slopes @ Spirit Mountain in Duluth.

Lutsen IMO would have to be 3 days / 2 night minimum - leave early Friday - Ski Fri/Sat or Sat/Sun (depending on if you want to leave REAL early Friday or stay late Sunday. 4 days / 3 nights would be even better. It's about a 4 - 4.5 hour drive assuming good road conditions. Spirit is only a couple hours so would be easier to do a single night thing and still ski both days if people wanted.
