Phase 2

So phase two is underway. Last night I purchased the initial parts. Suspension, wheels, and tires. So those will be in the mail and I should have them all before the end of the month. Anyways, here is what I went with:

Suspension: Flyin' Miata V-Maxx Stage 2 coilovers. http://www.flyinmiata.com/index.php?stocknumber=13-16720

That being said, I think a install day and BBQ is in order at mine or my girlfriend Molly's place. Pizza or burgers and some beer in exchange for a few helping hands.

Well the bad news is that if I am LUCKY, the suspension will be ready to ship at the end of the month. So I am expecting to have it in mid September. Wheels should be here today and the tires sometime next week. So I may end up getting cracking on bodywork and interior before I expected.

I wanted to figure out my clearences with the suspension wheels and tires before I started going all wide bady and flairs. But just the tires and wheel should at least give me an idea.

Update

So 1st off, I ordered up these ^ corbeau seats along with the rails and harnesses and got those on the way so I can get a jump start on the interior.

Secondly, started body work today with the cowel on the hood (figuring it'd be the easiest to kick things off with). Almost have the wooden frame done and should be ready to fiberglass soon.

Finally... my wheels came at last!!!!!!




The tires will be in on monday and I can get them mounted and test run them.

The 15x9 +36s would have fit with a flat roll, no pull.

That's about the widest street 15" tire you'll find, though. :)

Eh I would have. But I won't be producing THAT much power. And considring the price, I don't think I would have the the money back out of the extra inch.

Ordered new parts today.

Momo millenium steering wheel and hub adapter.
Boss frog double maxx roll bar.
Oracle flush mount headlight kit.

Hopefully I can get AJ and Dan to give a hand on the bar since we all know the drill now lol.

Who's ready for some engine tear down!?

Pulled her in and got her up for a 10 hour tranmission removal.



Then we rolled her back outside to pull that MONSTEROUS 1.6 liter.





Now it was time to start stripping her down. Valve cover off and block started getting all it's bits removed.
