If I could simply figure out if it's one piece, or if there is a seperate "shift knob" piece that I could find that's shorter to begin with, that'd be cool too. I just don't know technical names...dern.

After shortening the shifter, I'd love to get a custom boot as well. :D

The shift knob unscrews from the shaft, so that's no big deal. A few companies make shift knobs that are sort of adjustable height, so that might help you out--don't get one that has a "universal attachment", make sure it's a threaded shaft. I forget what the threading is, but all mazda manauls. are the same.

For a shift boot, go to redlinegoods.com. They have tons of colors and styles and can be ordered in custom heights for short shifters as well. They aren't expensive either!

So, got the paint and sandpaper, no primer since it said it didn't need it, and I'm going for cheap right now. lol
Total cost was just under $8!

Haven't started yet, but plan to asap! Didn't feel like doing anything last night, and I had a house meeting.

Let me know how that turns out. I'd be really interested to see how a shinier color comes out with that. I used flat black, because it looks badass on my car.

Definitely will. I will most likely take pictures of the process as well, if I can get an extra hand while I work. I'm thinking it'll look pretty sweet!

Okay, so last night I finished the "MAZDA" and the "Protege" emblems on the back. Both were held in with pins, but no adhesive so easy removal and easy reapplying.

I took this with my phone, so not the best, but I'll add more tomorrow! Maybe I'll make a thread specifically for it.

Anyone got an extra #3 fuel injector on hand by chance? Mines shot.
Coil pack only worked for so long. Same code popped up again and want it fixed! If no one has, if you could point me in the direction of a cheap one that'd be awesome. Should be purple, not green if I am correct.
